NextPhase Announces 'Shadow Service(SM)' Offering, Keeping Businesses Connected

New service enhances NextPhase(SM) CONNECT family with cost-effective solution offering that will support SMBs

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 9 -- NextPhase Wireless (BULLETIN BOARD: NPHS) , a nationwide developer of WiMAX networks and a provider of advanced broadband solutions, today announced its Shadow Service(SM) offering, an addition to its business continuity suite of products, which will provide businesses with additional connectivity options.

"Today it is imperative for businesses to assure a smooth flow of information across their voice and data networks without interruption," said Tom Hemingway, CEO of NextPhase Wireless. "Traditionally that meant a business would order a T1 from the local telephone company or Internet service provider and a DSL circuit when available for backup to the primary circuit. They might also order a T1 for telephone service and a handful of basic phone lines for backup," Hemingway added.

"And while that level of backup looks to have all bases covered at first glance, potential for failure is greater than it might appear. Although many businesses have primary and secondary connectivity feeds, in a wired world this connectivity traces back to the Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) that owns that last physical connection to the business' premises," Hemingway explained. "NextPhase has the ability to offer a bundled voice and data offering to businesses that avoids dependence on the LEC for that last mile at a price point business owners and managers can justify."

The NextPhase "Shadow T1" is a wireless 1.5 Mbps synchronous service that is available on demand when a primary circuit fails, and is offered for as little as $99 per month. Additionally, NextPhase can offer an integrated voice and data Shadow Service(SM) circuit for businesses allowing for an always-connected voice and data network design.

The NextPhase Shadow Service(SM) compliments traditional wired technologies and emerging wireless capabilities to offer connectivity backup services that are not interdependent allowing for any single point of failure.

"No technology is perfect unfortunately and can potentially fail, even if for a short period of time," Hemingway said. "And this can happen at anytime and at any place. The NextPhase Shadow Service(SM) provides the greatest opportunity to assure a business is always connected and not suspect to these risks," Hemingway added.
