videoNEXT Announces SKM-Mobile(TM)

New Wireless Video Surveillance Management Solution Provides Security Professionals More Mobility

CHANTILLY, Va., Aug. 25 -- videoNEXT, a developer of innovative physical security information management (PSIM) solutions, today announced its wireless video surveillance management solution, SKM-Mobile(TM). With the availability of videoNEXT's Security Knowledge Manager(TM) (SKM(TM)) technology on mobile devices, organizations will now be able to monitor and control live video surveillance cameras and receive alarm and event data remotely.

"Security professionals, especially for larger facilities, campuses and military bases, need the option of going mobile," said Ryan Kaltenbaugh, director, Global Business Development for videoNEXT. "SKM-Mobile enables them to view their cameras in real-time and be alerted when incidents occur, but not be tied down to a security office. We are thrilled to be on the forefront of mobility for video surveillance providing this critical solution to help organizations ensure the safety of people and assets."

"videoNEXT's Security Knowledge Manager is a reliable, proven and useable application for mobile devices," said Peter Michael, P.E., principal engineer at SAIC, a videoNEXT integrator. "It is intuitive, easy to use and will provide security professionals with a way to ensure the security of their facilities no matter where they are located. Mobility is critical to most organizations and videoNEXT is a proven leader in mobile video surveillance solutions."

SKM-Mobile enables organizations to increase the responsiveness of their surveillance system by providing the ability to monitor and control live cameras and receive alarms all from a PDA or mobile phone working on Windows Mobile version 5 or 6. SKM-Mobile is a user name and password protected application that incorporates advanced video analytic technology to send alarms/alerts to the user's wireless device when user-defined events occur. It also provides users the capability to playback recorded and archived video on their PDA or mobile phone.

videoNEXT's SKM is an open, standards-based software solution that works with nearly any IP, digital or analog camera, runs on any Intel or compatible server and uses an organization's existing security and data infrastructure in new and powerful ways. It provides the easiest and most scalable IP surveillance and physical security information management solution available today. Combining this with full policy-level administration and its unique flexible high availability Storage Volume Manager - organizations now have a highly capable, powerful, scalable and easy-to-use physical security information management tool that truly synchronizes security.
