ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Aug. 22 -- VanDyke Software, a developer of Secure Shell solutions that balance strong security with ease of use, today announced the official releases of SecureCRT(R) 6.1 and SecureFX(R) 6.1.
SecureCRT 6.1 introduces new scripting capabilities that allow system administrators to automate routine activities. "Scripting allows our customers, mostly busy IT professionals, to save time by automating certain processes," said Maureen Jett, VanDyke Software's Product Director. "In this release, we focused on adding internal scripting functionality. In addition to accessing the clipboard and session options, we added the ability to send special keys, which makes it easier to create scripts that are protocol and emulation independent."
"We also made it easier to script logons by allowing you to enter Secure Shell logon credentials in the terminal window, and to save usernames and passwords with keyboard-interactive authentication. And, to help customers quickly make use of SecureCRT's scripting capabilities, we've added example scripts to the program." Other new features include the ability to search from the Connect dialog, disconnect and reconnect all tabbed sessions, and launch a remote command or application on connect.
Site synchronization is simple and fast in SecureFX 6.1 with a synchronize database and the ability to use an active session for synchronization activities. SecureFX speeds up navigation by using context menu items to move back, forward, to the parent folder, to the home folder, to the root folder, and to the current folder in Explorer. Like SecureCRT 6.1, the SecureFX 6.1 Connect dialog allows searching for sessions, hosts, folder, or keywords.
