Suited for turning/milling applications, Coromant CaptoŽ machine adapted clamping units (MACUs) promote flexible system changes while also channeling high-pressure coolant. Self-centering and balanced polygon coupling enables MACUs to operate in any situation, from low- to high-speed machines, without changing properties of balanced spindle. System covers all metal cutting operations, such as turning/machining centers and multi-task machines.
Sandvik Coromant Releases Coromant CaptoŽ for Lathe Machines
Fair Lawn, New Jersey, August 25, 2008 - Sandvik Coromant has announced that it will release a new range of Coromant CaptoŽ machine adapted clamping units (MACU) for lathe machines in August 2008. The product will be demonstrated at IMTS in Sandvik Coromant's Smart Hub (booth F-2000).
Ideal for both turning and milling applications, the new Capto products will provide the flexibility to change from one system to another very quickly, and will also channel high pressure coolant from the latest CoroTurn HP cutting heads, reducing temperatures and improving chip control. The machine adapted clamping units will be available for Mazak, Mori Seiki, Nakamura Tome and Okuma machines.
Since its release more than 15 years ago, Sandvik Coromant's Coromant Capto has earned broad acceptance as the only true universal tool-holding system, covering all metal cutting operations such as turning centers, machining centers and multi-task machines. Self-centering and balanced by design, the Coromant Capto's polygon coupling enables it to operate in any situation from low to high speed machines without changing the properties of the balanced spindle.
