NetEx Enhances HyperIP Data Transport Software Solution with Large Scale Configurations, Improved Connectivity, and Non-Disruptive Upgrades
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - August 5, 2008 - NetEx®, the leader in high-speed data transport over TCP, today announced Release 5.5 of its HyperIP® software, extending the capabilities of the company's award-winning data acceleration software with support for larger multi-site configurations, a massive number of concurrent TCP connections, non-disruptive upgrades and a new high-performance hardware platform.
The NetEx HyperIP technology accelerates TCP applications over WANs for data replication and recovery optimization. It is based on the fastest and most successful IP transport technology available today. The new HyperIP release extends support for multi-site configurations, enabling large-scale HyperIP deployments for remote data replication across the country and around the globe. The upgraded Version 5.5 software also adds support for more than 8000+ application TCP connections, enabling massive replication, migration and recovery processes to run concurrently. These new software capabilities are powered by a new HyperIP platform providing enhanced performance up to 800 Mb/s throughput for a single TCP/IP connection. The new high-speed appliance enables data transport at wire speed and leverages the proprietary HyperIP TCP application acceleration technology to mitigate latency, packet loss shield to protect against variable circuit quality conditions that can disrupt and degrade application performance.
"Data center IT managers are facing ever-larger data loads and with more data at risk and the need for faster transports to protect that data via remote site replication and migration and optimize business continuity and disaster recovery operations," said Robert MacIntyre, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at NetEx. "HyperIP 5.5 addresses these needs with robust hardware and software enhancements that give IT managers an unmatched ability to protect and recover their data centers with the only WAN data transport acceleration solution that is optimized for enterprise requirements."
Along with performance upgrades, NetEx has made HyperIP easier to manage and upgrade with the Version 5.5 software release. The latest edition of HyperIP enables non-disruptive upgrades by supporting multiple system images, allowing users to install new software image upgrades while HyperIP is running. Users have full control over when the software switchover takes place and are protected by a roll-back feature to restore the existing software image. A new Command Line Interface (CLI) provides single command/response interface for new commands to simplify configuration of the HyperIP appliance.
About HyperIP
HyperIP is NetEx's award-winning business continuity and disaster recovery optimization solution for backup, recovery and data replication applications. It provides unmatched performance for moving TCP data efficiently using patent-pending technology that accelerates and optimizes the industry-leading data replication and file transfer applications by aggregating multiple data replication applications over a shared connection while mitigating the inherent network latency and network disruption for long-distance remote TCP/IP data transmissions. HyperIP line-optimization appliances support long-distance data transfers at up to 800 Mb/s, the highest performance of any optimization appliance on the market, and 25 to more than 100 percent faster than competitive products. Transfer speed is optimized for the full range of data management applications, including backup & remote replication and business continuance/disaster recovery (BC/DR). HyperIP has been qualified with EMC's SRDF, Centera and Celerra Replicator and RecoverPoint, TrueCopy from Hitachi Data Systems, IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager and Global Mirror, SnapVault and SnapMirror from Network Appliance, DataGuard and DBsync from Oracle and Symantec's NetBackup, Replication Exec and Volume Replicator and FalconStor's Replication products.
