FLIR Systems Brings Picture-in-Picture "FUSION" to Infrared Cameras for Building Sciences Applications

05/13/2008

FLIR's new B-250 and B-200 infrared cameras provide robust features at a competitive price

BOSTON, Massachusetts (May 13, 2008) - FLIR Systems, Inc., the global leader in infrared cameras, announced the addition of two new offerings to its B-Series of infrared cameras for the building sciences industry. The new cameras offer high-performance features at a very competitive price making it more readily available to a greater number of contractors in the construction and building professions.

"We've seen the use of infrared cameras increase significantly over the past few years for building science applications," said Tom O'Toole, Director, Business Development, FLIR Systems. "Contractors and service providers are finding more and more uses for the cameras including energy audits, HVAC, radiant heating, roofing, electrical surveys, mechanical inspections, and more. These new cameras offer robust features at a competitive price that make them a truly must-have on-the-job tool."

Paul Eldrenkamp, owner of Byggmeister in Newton, Mass., a high-performance residential remodeling company, said, "FLIR's B-CAM has become a key tool in my company's remodeling projects. Whether it's to conduct energy audits or to do quality checks on our work, we use the camera as part of every project. The camera is instrumental in helping me communicate with homeowners to help them understand what's really going on in their homes and how to get the most out of making home improvements."

Now incorporated into the entire line of B-Series cameras, FLIR's picture-in-picture FUSION enhances the value of an infrared image by, with a push of a button, allowing you to overlay it directly over the corresponding visible image. It makes for easier identification and interpretation of infrared images. Done in real-time, the overlay function can be easily adjusted to suit any application such as electrical surveys, building diagnostics, and mechanical inspections.

The B-250 and B-200 cameras include picture-in-picture FUSION, high thermal sensitivity to humidity and moisture for maximum accuracy, and high-resolution. The B-250 offers a touch screen capability for sketching diagrams and marking images. FLIR cameras give a contractor, whose diagnostic work always takes place on location, a tool that can generate a report without having to go back to the office.

FLIR offers a number of high-quality, affordable cameras suitable for a wide-variety of applications. To learn more about FLIR cameras visit www.goinfrared.com/pr3.
