Dual-Output Clock Generator targets Ethernet applications.

August 5, 2008 - Achieving -57 dB PSNR to minimize jitter degradation in noisy power-supply environments, MAX3622 utilizes low-noise VCO and PLL architecture to generate two 0.14 psRMS clock outputs from 25 MHz crystal resonator. It integrates LVPECL and LVCMOS buffers to provide 125 MHz LVCMOS and 156.25 MHz LVPECL output frequencies simultaneously. Specified over 0-70°C commercial temperature range, unit operates from 3.3 V ±5% and is available in lead-free, 16-pin TSSOP package.

Ultra-Low-Jitter, Dual-Output Clock Generator Provides a Precision Clock Solution for Ethernet Applications

Dual-Output Clock Generator with Ultra-Low-Jitter.

o The MAX3622 is an ultra-low-jitter clock generator with dual outputs.

o This device provides two ultra-low-jitter clock outputs, while achieving -57dB PSNR to minimize jitter degradation in noisy power-supply environments.

o Maxim's proprietary PLL architecture enables this excellent jitter and PSNR performance.

o The MAX3622 is ideal for Ethernet switches/routers and other networking applications.

SUNNYVALE, CA - May 27, 2008 - Maxim Integrated Products (PINK OTC MARKETS: MXIM) introduces the MAX3622 ultra-low-jitter, dual-output clock generator. This device utilizes a low-noise VCO and proprietary PLL architecture to generate two ultra-low-jitter, 0.14psRMS (typ) clock outputs from a 25MHz crystal resonator. Additionally, it achieves -57dB PSNR (power-supply noise rejection) to minimize jitter degradation in noisy power-supply environments. Integrating LVPECL and LVCMOS buffers, the MAX3622 provides 125MHz LVCMOS and 156.25MHz LVPECL output frequencies simultaneously, thus reducing the number of crystal oscillators. This ultra-low-jitter, precision clock generator is ideal for Ethernet switches/routers and other networking applications.

The MAX3622 is fully specified over the 0°C to +70°C commercial temperature range, and operates from 3.3V ±5%. It is available in a lead-free, 16-pin TSSOP package. Prices start at $12.00 (1000-up, FOB USA). An evaluation kit is available to speed designs.
