Cincinnati Sub-Zero Introduces New Compact Thermal Shock Chamber for Advanced Product Testing

Vertical air-to-air testing chamber uses customized hot- and cold-temperature settings to detect product stress defects before going to market, improving product reliability and customer confidence

Cincinnati, OH - July 10, 2008 - Cincinnati Sub-Zero (CSZ) has announced the introduction of a new compact vertical thermal-shock chamber - the 'VTS-1' - combining a state-of-the-art product with high performance, small footprint, and an array of standard features to offer exceptional value.

The new VTS-1 chamber consists of a compact, air-to-air, chamber with distinct 'hot' and 'cold' zones for thermal shock testing. A distinguishing feature of the chamber includes the ability to operate it as an independent thermal cycling chamber - delivering the value of two chambers in one system. The chamber offers interior workspace of 1 cubic feet in a very small footprint, maximizing testing space while minimizing storage and use space demands.

Sophisticated programming, communication, and other operational features are standard, enabling superior performance in all models. Standard features include the CSZ EZT-560i touch-screen controller, providing the ability to control each chamber separately, or together, for thermal-shock operation. This CSZ-exclusive controller incorporates data logging, data-file access via USB-compatible memory stick, Ethernet control and monitoring, alarm notification via email or phone text message, data-file backup, and full-system security for the ultimate in test-chamber control.

Bob Nelson, VP and General Manager, CSZ Industrial Division, said, "The VTS-1 is yet another highquality offering in the long history of outstanding and reliable CSZ testing products. By helping our customers properly evaluate component and equipment durability, whether in the preliminary R&D or final manufacturing phase, together, we deliver the best to all markets."

The VTS-1 operates on 208V/230V, 1- or 3-phase power. Additional standard features include emergency-power switch, traveling cable port, casters, leveling legs, and more. The product transfer carriage provides smooth, steady conveyance and does not require the compressed air supply needed for pneumatic transfer mechanisms. VTS-1 testing functionality meets a variety of commercial and military-grade specifications.
