LDS Test and Measurement Introduces the New Photon+ Dynamic Signal Analyzer

Middleton, Wisconsin - LDS Test and Measurement has announced its new PHOTON+(TM) Portable Dynamic Signal Analyzer. PHOTON+ is a next generation, ultra-portable, real-time analyzer designed for making faster and more accurate vibration measurements. It offers the convenience and power of the industry-standard USB 2.0 interface, and comes with two to four analog input channels, plus a waveform source/ tachometer channel. It is a true All-In-One analyzer with real-time analysis, data recording, and post-processing capabilities all included as standard - all fitting in the palm of your hand.

All input channels are 24-bit with programmable voltage ranges from 10 mV to 10 V and a 115 dB dynamic range to provide precise and fast measurements, even with low level signals. Digital filters provide linear phase measurements to prevent distortion of captured waveforms. The powerful DSP based architecture of the PHOTON+ provides a real-time analysis rate of 84 kHz on all channels concurrently, to get results fast. In addition 41 frequency spans are available from 8 Hz to 84 kHz with up to 115,200 FFT lines, offering total measurement flexibility.

Like its predecessor the PHOTON, the PHOTON+ can simultaneously do on-line analysis while streaming data to the computer's hard disk, so there is no need to wait for post-processing to see critical results. Using the USB2.0 interface the PHOTON+ can stream data to the PC hard disk at an amazing rate of 192,000 samples per second for all 4 channels simultaneously.

PHOTON+ is designed for the challenges of field use. It is a small, ultra-portable package that is easy to carry along with a tablet or notebook PC. Weighing only 8 ounces, the PHOTON+ has a wallet-sized footprint. In fact, the PHOTON+ is the most compact and lightest 4-channel analyzer available today. Since it is powered by a PC's USB port, no external power converters or batteries are needed.

PHOTON+ operates like an instrument - so you can get to work fast. Its application-tailored Windows Vista/XP packages reduce learning time and make it easy to get results quickly. The RT Pro All-In-One software environment combines data recording, data post-processing, and real-time measurement and analysis to create a truly integrated solution for vibration measurement applications. One-click report generation eliminates having to manually create test documentation saving a significant amount of time. Exporting data is effortless for easy sharing with other analysis programs.

LDS Test and Measurement's RT Pro All-In-One offers an extensive and user-friendly set of applications to address a range of vibration testing needs. Available applications include capabilities for general vibration analysis, shock transient capture and SRS analysis, data recording in the field with on-line analysis, structural and modal analysis, building floor vibration including 1/N octave spectra, and acoustic analysis using 1/1 and 1/3 octave spectra.

About LDS Test and Measurement

LDS Test and Measurement, a unit of SPX Corporation, is a global company focused on the physical test and measurement markets, and on product validations. LDS is a name that has been traditionally associated with high quality vibration test systems. However, with the acquisition of Dactron, Nicolet Technologies and Gould Instruments, we now also supply individual and fully integrated solutions for data acquisition and recording through simulation and test to analysis and reporting.
