Mechanical Testing Machine can measure at ultra low forces.
July 23, 2008 -
Capable of generating force-displacement curves in tension, compression, or flexure, FlexTester measures mechanical properties of materials at forces down to 0.5 mg. It tests in vertical and horizontal orientations, with typical actuator strokes of 5 mm and resolution of 1 nm. MTESTQuattro(TM) controller and software, included, enable precise closed loop force or displacement control, data acquisition, real-time plotting, and report generation.
ADMET Introduces FlexTester Ultra Low Force Testing Machine
NORWOOD, Mass. - July 10, 2008 - ADMET Inc., a manufacturer of integrated materials testing systems, today introduced an ultra low force materials testing machine for measuring the mechanical properties of materials at forces down to 0.5 mg (5 micronewtons). Called the ADMET FlexTester, it is capable of generating force-displacement curves in tension, compression or flexure. The ADMET FlexTester tests in both vertical and horizontal orientations with typical actuator strokes of 5mm with 1nm resolution.
The FlexTester features ADMET's MTESTQuattro(TM) controller and software for precise closed loop force or displacement control, data acquisition, real-time plotting and generating reports. Specimen baths and light microscopes can be supplied as options for testing hard-to-see specimens in solutions. Typical uses include the testing of sensors, optical lenses, adhesives, switches, biomedical materials, fibers, tiny Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) based flexures and more.
"The ADMET FlexTester meets the unfilled need for a specialized mechanical test system that aids in the research and development of new materials and tiny devices," commented Richard Gedney, ADMET founder and president. "It offers the requisite range and sensitivity necessary for making precise force-deflection measurements at sub-gram levels."
The ADMET FlexTester is available immediately directly from ADMET and through representatives.
