CCE's EnSuite Adds Useful Updates for the Extended Product Development Team

(July 9, 2008) -- CCE, a leading provider of CAD/CAM data translation and viewer products, has announced that EnSuite Version 2 - its multi-CAD viewing, translation and productivity software - has been upgraded with two new useful features. Users that do not have access to a CAD system can now with a single click of the mouse set the material type of components or view an assembly in its exploded view.

"These new two functions will be very useful to many users in the extended product development teams, who will obtain additional capabilities for using CAD data without incurring the licensing and support expenses and training time associated with using a CAD system," says Vinay Wagle, V.P. Sales & Marketing of CCE. "For example, someone in the shipping department will be able to immediately determine the weight of a custom product. A marketing person creating a catalog can instantly generate an exploded view to show how the product goes together."

The set material type function of EnSuite Version 2 makes it possible to assign a material type to each component within an assembly. The software provides a database of materials that includes their mass properties. Once the material type has been assigned to a component, its mass can be calculated with a single click. When a material type has been assigned to each component in an assembly, the mass of the assembly can be determined just as quickly.

The exploded view function of EnSuite Version 2 expands upon the existing capability to quickly isolate that part by making all of the other parts in the assembly transparent. While the isolate part function makes it possible to quickly identify and view a part, the exploded view capability goes one step further by showing how parts fit together with other parts in the assembly without interference from other parts. This feature will be particularly useful to manufacturing staff who need to understand how to assemble a product and sales and marketing team members who need to explain the product to prospects and customers.

The latest EnSuite update will be available to all active subscription license customers as well as to new customers.

EnSuite goes far beyond the capabilities of conventional viewers and translators by providing a wide range of productivity tools for accessing critical engineering information. EnSuite prevents users from saving changes to the master CAD model to protect integrity of the master model. Licenses are automatically administered and the product updated over the Internet.

EnSuite is designed for companies that work in a multi-CAD environment, such as those used by customers, vendors and partners. EnSuite provides seamless interoperability with CATIA V4, CATIA V5, Pro/ENGINEER, Unigraphics, and SolidWorks CAD systems as well as Parasolid, IGES and STEP files. Files can be translated to and from any of these formats without the native CAD software.
