Surface Mount White LEDs are designed for backlighting.

July 21, 2008 - Available with top-view or right-angle projection, SMD LEDs produce clear bright white output with 120° viewing angle and ratings up to 1,900 mcd for use in backlight units for LCDs. Products are available on reels for automatic placement to PCBs for matrix lighting as well as rails for LCD lighting or rear- and edge-illuminated signage. PCB assemblies for backlighting can be supplied using various components for color matching, brightness uniformity, and performance.
