PXI Controllers offer 20, 50, or 80 MHz performance.

July 10, 2008 - Incorporating normally external SCANFLEX® transceivers into 1 slot/3U unit, SCANFLEX® SFX/PXI1149/C4-FXT Boundary Scan Controllers feature ADYCS(TM) II propagation delay compensation and dynamic HYSCAN(TM) data splitting. TAP interface cards are linked externally, and 4 auto-identified TIC types are available. Differential signal interface ensures secure transmission of TAP signals, even through multiple interconnections and with over 4 m of cable length, maintaining TCK clock frequency up to 80 MHz.

JTAG/Boundary Scan Platform SCANFLEX® Incorporates New PXI Controllers for Critical Applications

Cambridge; London, UK - Goepel electronic, global leader for IEEE1149.x JTAG/Boundary Scan solutions introduced at National Electronics Week (NEW) a new series of PXI-Bus based controllers for its revolutionary Boundary Scan hardware platform SCANFLEX® - SFX/PXI1149/C4-FXT, the new family of SCANFLEX® Boundary Scan Controllers (SFX controller) for integration into PXI systems comprising of three different performance class versions.

"Recently the trend has been that every third turn key solution delivered by our applications team is PXI based," explained Karl Miles, UK sales manager at GOEPEL electronics in Cambridge. "This coincides with a growing number of applications operating in critical environments, demanding high quality JTAG signals and interference-proof signal transmission. Due to their small form factor and high noise immunity signal transmission, our new SCANFLEX® controllers provide an ideal solution for secure operation. Offering a portfolio of 15 different SCANFLEX® PXI controllers combined with a sound comprehensive competence, gained throughout several hundred PXI installations, we clearly lead the way in this field."

The new SFX/PXI1149/C4-FXT controllers incorporate the normally external SCANFLEX® TAP transceivers into the 1 slot/3U unit, whereas the TAP interface cards (TIC) are linked externally. The TICs are active so the complete signal conditioning is performed directly within the test fixture or environmental test chamber for HASS/HALT applications. Four different auto-identified TIC types are available to accommodate various applications. The differential signal interface ensures a secure transmission of the TAP signals, even through multiple interconnections and with over 4 meters of cable length, a TCK clock frequency of up to 80 MHz can be maintained.

The new controller series offers 4 truly parallel TAPs and is available in three performance classes A, B and C. The classes differ in their respective maximum TCK clock frequency of 20, 50 and 80 MHz as well as in the degree of implementation of the advanced SPACE(TM) II chipset for high performance scan operations.

Unlike conventional solutions, the integrated FASTSCALE(TM) technology allows for an upgrade of the performance class 'on-the-fly', overcoming costly assembly of additional hardware. All SCANFLEX® controllers feature the ADYCS(TM) II propagation delay compensation and the dynamic HYSCAN(TM) data splitting for serial TAP vectors and parallel I/O vectors as a standard. Moreover, resources like 32 dynamic I/Os, 2 analogue I/Os, 3 static I/Os and trigger lines are included in the basic package.

SFX/PXI1149/C4-FXT is fully supported by the industry leading Boundary Scan software package SYSTEM CASCON(TM) (version 4.4.1 or higher). Based on the integrated CAPI functionality (CASCON Application Programming Interface), predefined plug-ins are available for convenient system integration of e.g. LabView, LabWindows and TestStand.
