Digi Releases High Performance Embedded Device Server

- Digi expands popular Digi Connect ME® family of embedded Ethernet servers -

MINNETONKA, Minn. (July 1, 2008) - Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII) today introduced the Digi Connect ME 9210, a high performance embedded device server and newest addition to the popular Digi Connect ME family. The Digi Connect ME 9210 enables OEMs to easily add secure Ethernet connectivity to their products and is faster, includes more memory and has more peripheral interfaces than any other device server.

"The Digi Connect ME 9210 is ideal for Ethernet enabling a mission critical device," said Larry Kraft, senior vice president of global sales and marketing, Digi International. "It's fast, has plenty of memory for complex applications, and can connect to more peripherals like sensors, speakers, microphones and serial printers than any other embedded device server. This powerful combination means it can handle the most challenging of devices that need Ethernet network connectivity."

The Digi Connect ME 9210 offers customers the highest level of speed and memory available on a device server with a 75 MHz ARM9 processor, and 8MB RAM and 2 or 4 MB Flash. It also features the most peripheral interfaces including serial, SPI, I2C, GIO, CAN, 1-wire and integrated Flexible Interface Modules (FIMs). FIMS provide custom interfaces for tailoring the module to the users' exact application needs.

The Digi Connect ME 9210 is the first embedded module to feature an integrated, NIST-certified AES accelerator that provides secure network communication with SSL/TLS and IPsec protocols. The accelerator encrypts and decrypts data streams up to 10 times faster than a software-only solution and provides strong data privacy for any customer information stored or transmitted by the module.

The Digi Connect ME 9210 also features unique power functionality, including power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support to allow the design of devices that require no external power; and Digi Dynamic Power Control(TM), a complete set of hardware and software features for product designs that demand low- power consumption and advanced power management. This reduces the power required to operate the Digi Connect ME 9210 and saves power on PoE networks.

Based on Digi's recently introduced NS9210 ARM9 microprocessor, the Digi Connect ME 9210 will support the extended lifecycle of embedded products. The NET+OS operating system includes support for advanced secure networking protocols such as IPv6, SNMPv3 and SSL further supporting long- term usability.

The Digi Connect ME 9210 is pin-compatible and interchangeable with the current Digi Connect ME. Digi Connect ME 9210 JumpStart Kits for NET+OS are available now for an introductory price of $399. Module pricing is available through an authorized Digi distributor. For more information, visit www.digi.com.
