Capital Safety Introduces Delta Vest(TM) Hi-Vis Harnesses

Vests combine fall protection harness with high-visibility vest for complete safety solution

RED WING, Minn. - June 26, 2008 - To address the fall protection and high-visibility requirements for workers in the construction, transportation, utilities and energy industries, DBI-SALA, a Capital Safety brand, introduces the Delta Vest(TM) Harness Series. The Delta Vest(TM) integrates a complete personal fall protection harness with a high quality work vest that meets industry standards.

The Delta Vest(TM) is available in high-visibility orange and yellow, featuring breathable fabric and reflective materials, as well as a blue cotton model that helps retain heat in cooler climates. The series features a Delta(TM) II harness, complete with adjustable straps with quick-connect, pass-thru, or tongue buckle connections, ensuring a proper fit. The harnesses are available in four sizes and incorporate five points of adjustability, including torso adjustors not found on other brands, to provide further sizing for a comfortable fit.

"Other harness-incorporated vests on the market sacrifice adjustability, comfort and, most importantly, safety," said Nate Bohmbach, product manager for softgoods with Capital Safety. "Our Delta Vest(TM) harnesses provide all the safety features of a Delta(TM) II harness, including a sub-pelvic strap, with added comfort and convenience features that make this the best fitting and most versatile work vest on the market."

The sub-pelvic strap is a very important safety feature that is not sacrificed with the Delta Vest(TM). The strap ensures proper distribution of forces should a fall occur. A spring loaded "stand-up" D-ring, properly positioned between the shoulder blades, provides easy access to the connection point of the harness. When the D-ring is not in use, a unique D-ring keeper prevents the D-ring from sliding into the vest and keeps it accessible for immediate use. The vest's durable zipper stops at the chest strap of the harness, eliminating a potential choking hazard in the event of a fall.

Incorporating multiple comfort-enhancing features, the Delta Vest(TM) allows for extended periods of wear while reducing user fatigue. The vest is constructed of lightweight polyester fabric that provides breathability for comfort throughout the day. Soft elastic binding around the arms and neck reduces uncomfortable chafing.

In addition to comfort, the convenience of the Delta Vest(TM) is unmatched. Mesh lining and snap attachments inside the vest hold the shape of the harness, allowing the user to don the vest like a jacket. The lining provides easy access to the webbing and hardware components of the harness, allowing for easy inspection. Chest pockets with a penholder and deep jacket pockets provide convenient locations to secure objects. The complete unit is fully washable.

The Delta Vests(TM) in neon yellow and orange are designed to meet ANSI/ISEA 107-1999 and CSA Z96-02 Class 1 and 2 standards for high visibility. All models also meet OSHA, ANSI Z359, and CSA Z259.10 standards for fall protection.
