Basestation Client Server suits mobile IP backhaul networks.

June 30, 2008 - Model BT-750 is Precision Time Protocol (PTP), IEEE 1588v2 client timing device that delivers edge-to-core synchronization for mobile IP backhaul networks. It uses either carrier-class NTP or IEEE 1588v2 PTP for network-based synchronization and includes native Service Level Agreement monitoring capabilities of 1-way latency and jitter measurements. Call handoffs are seamless in and among 2G/3G/4G basestations and across IP/Ethernet backhaul network.

Brilliant Telecommunications Announces Immediate Availability of World's First IEEE 1588v2 Basestation Client Delivering Edge-to-Core Synchronization for Mobile IP Backhaul Networks

Next-generation network timing solution makes mobile IP backhaul carrier-class

Campbell, Calif-June 17, 2008-Brilliant Telecommunications, Inc., a developer of next-generation timing and synchronization solutions, breaks ground with the BT-750, a Precision Time Protocol (PTP), IEEE 1588v2 client timing device. The BT-750 allows mobile service operators to provide the timing and synchronization required at the radio access network edge to enable carrier-class IP backhaul. With the BT-750, the operator can be assured that call handoffs are seamless in and among 2G/3G/4G basestations and across the IP/Ethernet backhaul network. The BT-750 provides a seamless migration path for operators looking to capitalize on the efficiencies of IP/Ethernet as bandwidth demands explode, while seamlessly supporting legacy T1/E1 backhaul environments.

Key differentiators for the BT-750 are its ability to use either carrier-class NTP or IEEE 1588v2 PTP for network-based synchronization as well as its native Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring capabilities of one-way latency and jitter measurements for alarms, root-cause analysis and network troubleshooting. The BT-750 builds on Brilliant's strategy of delivering edge-to-core network timing and synchronization products allowing both legacy circuit-based and next-generation solutions to seamlessly co-exist in the same environment, providing investment protection to existing networks.

"We have developed an NGN timing solution that enables the mobile operator to deploy highly reliable IP backhaul to meet the explosive bandwidth demands of 'all-you-can-eat' plans needed to attract and retain mobile subscribers," commented Dr. Charles Barry, president and CEO of Brilliant Telecommunications. "The BT-750 is deployed in tier-1 mobile operator networks today ensuring reliable call-handoffs as well as providing one-way and two-way key performance indicators from edge-to-core."

The BT-750 represents an extension of Brilliant's timing solutions and accompanies the Zurich Z-1000-a ruggedized integrated GPS antenna and hardware-based NTP server/PTPv2 Grandmaster-and the Cern C-2000-a carrier-class PRS/PTPv2 Grandmaster designed for core networking environments. Brilliant's timing and synchronization solutions enable mobile operators to reach levels of basestation synchronization in IP-based networks that were once only available to circuit-based T1/E1 solutions.

The BT-750 will be on display at NXTcomm08, June 17-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center at the Brilliant Telecommunications booth # SL4120 and is immediately available. For more information on NXTcomm08, visit www.nxtcommshow.com. To find out more about the BT-750 PTP client or to set up a meeting to learn more about the Brilliant timing and synchronization solution, send an e-mail to info@BrilliantTelecom.com
