NEW Lithium Ion Micro Impact Driver- the WH10DL

New Addition to Hitachi's Micro Series Makes a Big Impact

NORCROSS, GA - Hitachi Power Tools introduces the second tool in the new 10.8-volt series, the WH10DL 10.8-Volt Lithium Ion Micro Impact Driver. The combination of Hitachi's HXP Lithium Ion battery technology and an advanced impact mechanism give the WH10DL a high torque-to-size ratio for convenient operation and impressive performance. Lightweight and compact at only 2 lbs and 5-1/2" in length, the WH10DL delivers 930 inch-pounds of torque (more than any cordless driver drill) and gets into tight places where conventional drills cannot. With many features designed for comfort, control and convenience, the WH10DL fits easily in any tool belt and packs enough punch to smoothly drill and drive into wood, metal and concrete for everything from heavy-duty construction to finish cabinetry.

For standard drilling, driving, and fastening applications, the WH10DL Micro Impact Driver can handle them all like any driver drill. The distinction of an impact driver emerges when the job gets tough, such as driving self-tapping masonry anchors into concrete, brick or block, or heavy fastening application with lag bolts. As the resistance of the load increases, the impact action is engaged to greatly increase torque to power through the most challenging tasks.

Ergonomically designed details and the powerful advantage of an impact work together for more work with less time and effort required. A quick change ¼" hex chuck allows for simple bit replacements and a responsive variable speed trigger provides complete control during intricate operations. By partially depressing the trigger, an LED light illuminates the work surface and allows the user to see clearly to set up an application before the driver is in motion. A low battery indicator light warns the user when run-time is getting low.

Optimized handle dimensions (4-1/2" circumference) create an ergonomic grip span for comfortable control and a secure grasp. The well-balanced tool weight and a properly positioned tool center of gravity keep the user's hand and forearm in alignment to reduce fatigue over time. Additionally, due to Hitachi's unique handle and battery confi guration, the WH10DL can stand freely on its base, unlike competitive models.

Hitachi's environmentally-friendly HXP batteries make this tool an affordable lithium ion option that delivers a steady stream of power throughout every charge, unlike traditional batteries that undergo a power fade from the moment the battery is removed from the charger. Hitachi's patented battery charger features unique circuitry that prevents overheating or power loss, ultimately extending the life of the battery and saving the user from costly replacements. All HXP batteries are equipped with an advanced current interrupt detection system and a thermal protector for added safety.

The WH10DL Micro Driver Drill features Hitachi's industry leading 5-year warranty comes complete with two 10.8-volt 1.5Ah lithium ion batteries, a quick charger and a Phillips driver bit- all contained in a durable carrying case. Watch for more Hitachi tools to join the Micro Series throughout 2008.
