RF Conformance Test System targets mobile handsets.
June 26, 2008 -
Offering scalable solution, GS-8852 2G RF Conformance Test System tests devices for conformance to individual test standards as prescribed by GCF or PCS-type certification review board for UMTS mobile phones. It also provides RF transmitter, receiver, and performance tests in accordance with 3GPP TS51.010-1 test specification for GSM, GPRS, and EGPRS technology. Software includes pre-defined tests, as well as design verification environment where users can configure or modify tests.
Agilent Technologies Introduces GSM, GPRS, EGPRS Full RF Conformance Test System for Mobile Handsets
SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 12, 2008 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced the latest addition to its GS-8800 family of RF design verification and conformance test solutions: the new GS-8852 2G RF Conformance Test (RCT) system, a full-featured GSM, GPRS, EGPRS test system for mobile handset conformance test. This system leverages the measurement speed, accuracy and repeatability strengths of Agilent products, creating a reliable, high performance test system ideal for wireless test laboratories, handset manufacturers, reference design and chipset vendors, and NEMs performing full wireless RF conformance test.
The Agilent GS-8852 RCT system performs high-accuracy measurements and provides excellent repeatability, testing devices for conformance to the individual test standards as prescribed by the Global Certification Forum (GCF) or PCS-type certification review board (PTCRB) for UMTS mobile phones. Also featured are RF transmitter, receiver and performance tests in accordance with the 3GPP TS51.010-1 test specification for GSM, GPRS and EGPRS technology -- all within a single test platform. Support for DARP technology will be available in the near future. The GS-8852 RCT system also supports a range of bands, including GSM 850, GSM 900, DCS 1800 and PCS 1900. This flexibility not only minimizes the user's capital investment and ensures development of quality products, but also provides an easy upgrade path for future 3G/3.5G formats.
With its high performance and fast test speed, the GS-8852 significantly increases test throughput while ensuring production of high-quality devices. Moreover, because the GS-8852 offers a scalable solution for the entire product lifecycle -- from design verification and conformance through to manufacturing -- the user can realize a further reduction in capital investment as well as reduced time-to-market.
Agilent's GS-8800 family of multiformat RF design verification and conformance systems are designed to minimize the cost of design validation by ensuring better results in a complete conformance test. Based on a core platform of Agilent test equipment and software, the systems can be expanded to meet the advanced requirements of the R&D design verification and conformance environment. The GS-8800's measurement capabilities are augmented by an RF Interface Module, which handles RF switching and conditioning, and offers the highest measurement accuracy possible. The software includes pre-defined tests that conform to the individual technology standard, as well as a design verification environment where users can easily configure or modify these tests.
U.S. Pricing and Availability
The Agilent GS-8852 2G RCT system is available now through Agilent's direct sales channels. Pricing is dependent on system configuration. A full 3G RCT test system will be available in September 2008.
