Creaform Unveils the Next Generation of REVscan

Industry-leading handheld provides new features and enhanced surface reconstruction capabilities

Lévis, Québec, May 20, 2008 - Creaform, developer and distributor of the Handyscan 3D(TM) product line of self-positioning handheld laser scanners, today unveiled its re-designed REVscan scanner, that has completely changed the way reverse engineering, design, shape acquisition and 3D inspection are done.

Faster and more powerful, the sleeker REVscan now shares the EXAscan(TM)'s rugged and stable platform and can fully benefit from the newly released platform for VxScan(TM) 2, Creaform's exclusive data acquisition software. The redesigned REVscan delivers overall improved surface quality and enhanced surface reconstruction capabilities, such as improved surface boundaries recognition and true automatic multi-resolution, made possibly through the new curvature recognition algorithm.

The REVscan still features all the benefits that have made it so popular since its first release, ensuring increased excellence in reverse engineering and design at the same competitive and affordable price point.

The redesigned REVscan launch coincides with the official release of VxScan 2.2. The new version of VxScan boasts additional functionalities aimed at easing and improving the scanning process and end-user experience. Available in English and French today, Creaform will break new ground again by offering the software in Spanish, German, Chinese and Japanese in 30 days. Simultaneously, Creaform is also releasing a new range of Handyscan 3D accessories, including the long-expected target applicator.
