LicenseStream Creator Now Generally Available to Speed, Simplify and Cut Costs for Licensing and Billing of Digital Media

ImageSpan Provides New Plug-ins for Easy Access to LicenseStream Creator from Within Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Popular Adobe Creative Suite 3 Software

SAUSALITO, Calif., June 3 /-- ImageSpan Inc., which provides an enabling infrastructure for digital content licensing, today announced new features along with the general availability of LicenseStream Creator, a simple-to-use content licensing and settlement managed service for creators of digital media. Subscribers to the service can now access it via plug-ins for the Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) Lightroom(TM) photography workflow software and the popular Adobe Creative Suite(R) 3 software, which provides a broad spectrum of creative options for all facets of print, web, film and video production.

LicenseStream Creator's simple-to-use, intuitive interface makes it easy for professional and user-gen creators to register and license a broad range of digital content, including photographs and images, track and manage royalties, and bill and collect fees. This new automated platform also enables easy assignment of revenues to multiple parties, making it especially useful for the highly-distributed transactions typical of today's Web 2.0 world of mashups and multi-copyright-holder projects. By eliminating time-consuming manual licensing processes, LicenseStream Creator simplifies the licensing and billing for digital media to speed the pace of transactions, expand revenues and cut costs up to 90 percent, freeing content creators and owners to focus on producing innovative, powerful content and getting that content to market fast.

"Content creators and licensors are looking for a smart, easy-to-use way to license and efficiently settle royalty payments in minutes for images, video and the full range of digital media," said Iain Scholnick, chief executive officer, ImageSpan, an Adobe Solutions Partner. "LicenseStream Creator's automated platform meets all of these needs without the time-consuming negotiations or middlemen that accompany manual licensing processes. We are excited to bring to creative professionals around the world a simple, intuitive content licensing service that can cut processing costs up to 90 percent and maximize profits as it minimizes paperwork."

LicenseStream Creator subscribers can now use the new plug-ins to access the platform directly from within Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, the professional photographer's essential toolbox, which provides one application for managing, adjusting, and presenting large volumes of digital photographs. Subscribers also can access the platform from Adobe Bridge CS3 via an Adobe Flash(R) Plug-in that initiates the licensing process. Adobe Bridge CS3 is a media manager that literally serves as the "bridge" between the applications in the Adobe Creative Suite, enabling files to be moved quickly through varied workflows. Subscriptions to the LicenseStream Creator service will start at $39.99 per year.

The ability to access LicenseStream Creator directly via desktop applications puts licensing and transaction control back into the hands of creative professionals and amateurs. It seamlessly guides both content providers and licensees through the process and empowers them to define licensing terms, as well as price, license and efficiently settle royalty payments. The licensing technology developed by ImageSpan supports standards created by the Picture Licensing Universal System (PLUS) that simplify the process of granting, obtaining and managing the permissions necessary to use digital images.

"Creative professionals and photographers require efficient methods for licensing and managing unique media assets within their specific workflows," said Tom Hogarty, senior product manager for Lightroom at Adobe. "ImageSpan's technology uses the PLUS Standard to enable licensing and the free flow of content and commerce from within the Lightroom and Creative Suite experience. These combined solutions provide the control and protection our customers seek, enabling them to cut costs while bringing even more content online to grow their businesses."

Photographers, illustrators and designers can now post their digital materials to a personal online gallery showcasing their content at LicenseStream.com, making it easy for prospective customers to view their work and initiate a licensing transaction. Creators or owners can post their content to their own or other popular Web sites, including Google Base, with links to the LicenseStream Creator service embedded in them, allowing them more control over their digital assets no matter where they are published online. In addition, LicenseStream Creator is a Web services-driven solution for third-party applications that can be embedded seamlessly and transparently into a Web site as a "white-label" managed service, and fully branded as the site's own solution.

LicenseStream Creator is now available at two levels of subscription:
-- LicenseStream Creator enables users to register, describe, license, manage their photo and video content library, publish and receive royalties. Users pay a commission fee of 10 percent in addition to the special introductory subscription fee of $39.99, which includes 2 gigabytes of secure, backed-up gallery storage space.
-- LicenseStream Creator Pro builds on all the benefits of LicenseStream Creator. A robust, "business-ready" solution, LicenseStream Creator Pro offers additional licensing, reporting, the ability to customize their online LicenseStream Creator gallery space, and publishing flexibility and options. LicenseStream Creator Pro users pay a commission fee of 5 percent per transaction in addition to the annual subscription fee of $99.99, which includes 10 gigabytes of secure, backed-up gallery storage space.

For LicenseStream Creator, ImageSpan offers the ability to purchase an additional 5 gigabytes of gallery storage space at a steep discount bulk rate. LicenseStream Creator Pro user may purchase additional gallery storage space at steep discount bulk rates, packaged in 5, 10, 25 and 50 gigabyte packages.
