Single-Turn Absolute Encoders survive harsh environments.

June 4, 2008 - Supplied in die-cast housings with 12-bit analog and 14-bit CANopen outputs, Sendix® magnetic encoders feature IP 69k protection rating, are resistant to humidity and condensation, and are suitable for outdoor use. Non-contact devices have 36 mm dia and use Sensor-Protect(TM) technology, where electronics are fully encapsulated and mechanical assembly is separated for shock resistance in excess of 500 g and vibration resistance over 30 g. Various parameters are programmable via bus.

Sendix ® Harsh Duty Single-Turn Magnetic Absolute Encoders

Minneapolis, Minn. - TURCK introduces new Sendix encoders with 12-bit analog and 14-bit CANopen outputs designed for users who need rugged, high resolution encoders. Die-cast housings, resistance to humidity and condensation and an IP 69k protection rating make these encoders exceptionally suitable for outdoor use.

These Kubler by TURCK absolute, single-turn, magnetic encoders use patented Sensor-Protect(TM) technology where the electronics are fully encapsulated and the mechanical assembly is separated, providing a high resistance to shock (>500g) and vibration (>30g). The encoders are assembled using proprietary Safety-Lockplus(TM) technology. This technology utilizes interlocking bearings on the fl ange and a mechanically protected shaft seal to protect the encoder from external debris during installation. These unique features, combined with an operating range of -40 to 85 C and the non-contact nature of the device, help ensure there is no wear on the encoders. The encoders come equipped with an LED to help ease installation and simplify diagnostics, as well as an integral cable or M12 connector. Since the encoders' diameter is only 36 mm, it may also be applied in space restrictive locations.

Sendix encoders for CANopen networks may be programmed via the bus for node address, baud rate and termination for fast, error-free start-up. This also allows users to obtain position or speed data in real time. Other parameters, like scale factors, preset values and limit switch values may also be programmed via the bus.

TURCK is an industry leader providing superior quality sensing, connectivity and network products to help manufacturers improve their automated processes. For other TURCK product or technical information, contact: Application support: 1-800-544-7769 o www.turck.com o turckusa@turck.com
