noax Technologies present the new noax industrial touch panel PC model P12, an extremely rugged, compact panel PC designed to comply with ROHS which can be utilized for tasks such as machine control and visualization.
The distinguishing features of the noax PC are its high performance with minimum space requirment plus the option to supply this PC completely sealed to comply with IP65 protection standard. The optional version with completely sealed enclosure provides all-around protection against extreme ambient conditions such as dust, water, or moisture. This makes the 12" panel PC, which is only 12.8x10.2x4.0 inches, the ideal Human Machine Interface (HMI) for installation in machines, switching cabinets, or control consoles with very little space and limited tightness. With the help of a special mounting frame, the panel IPC can easily be installed in a 19" rack.
P12 with high performance and a variety of expandability options
Despite its compact, completely sealed design, the 12" panel PC offers both high performance and expandability. For example, the P12 can be equipped optionally with different Intel processors ranging from 400MHz to 933MHz and a memory of up to 512MB. The standard equipment includes an integrated Intel Extreme Graphics Controller with both 3D and DVD support. The customary 2.5" industrial hard disks are installed using an ATA100-interface. Other standard on-board equipment includes a touch panel controller and Micro-Controller unit and sound is available as an option. In addition, the compact motherboard is supplied ex works with many on-board interfaces such as 2xRS232, 4xUSB (2x1.1 and 2x2.0), Intel Ethernet network controller (RJ45) and PS2. Be-cause of its compressed equipment, the compact board achieves a formidable upgradeability. Available options are PCI, PC/104+, and Mini-PCI, with a need to
choose between PCI and PC104+. The widely-used PCI cards make it possible to quickly and easily upgrade additional serial interfaces like RS422/485 or opto-decoupled inter-faces, PC card slots, or Digital I/O without much effort. Compact Flash cards offer another low-cost storage solution. They can be inserted directly into the board.
Additional standard features of the P12 are resistive analog touch panels as well as bright TFT displays with a resolution of either 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 (SVGA / XGA) and 350 cd/m2. The PCs have a compact and robust design with completely sealed enclosures. This makes the P12 completely water- and dust-proof and compliant with IP65 protection. What is more, the metal spring fixation of electronic parts on the board plus doing away with loose cables make the P12 extremely resistant to shock and vibration. Enhanced reliability is guaranteed by the noax micro-controller unit which performs numerous monitoring and control functions, e.g. fan speed, temperature
control and backlight control.
