Integrated with Platform LSF workload management software, Platform Manager v5.7 supports small and large clusters, and minimizes complexity of cluster management by facilitating deployment, configuration, administration, monitoring, and reporting. Program is designed for Linux HPC environments and gives organizations flexibility to choose from wide variety of systems from multiple vendors.
TORONTO, May 14 /- Platform Computing has launched Platform Manager 5.7, the company's premier release of the product formerly known as Scali Manage, which it acquired from Scali Inc. in October 2007. In line with company strategy, Platform has also announced the integration of this cluster management product with its industry leading workload management software, Platform LSF. This integrated offering will enable High Performance Computing (HPC) customers to leverage a single enterprise solution for both cluster and workload management.
Platform Computing, the global leader in HPC management software, delivers solutions that accelerate compute and data intensive applications, and manage cluster and grid systems. The company's strategy is to offer the entire suite of HPC management software for industries such as Electronics, Industrial Manufacturing, Financial Services, Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, and Government & Education. Platform's solutions enable organizations to improve time-to-results and reduce computing costs.
Platform Manager 5.7 supports small and large clusters. It reduces the complexity of cluster management by supporting deployment, configuration, administration, monitoring and reporting. The simplification of cluster management reduces cost of ownership and accelerates time to production, maximizes system uptime and reduces problem resolution time. Platform Manager 5.7 is designed for multi-vendor Linux HPC environments and gives organizations the flexibility to choose from a wide variety of systems from multiple vendors.
"Platform Computing continually strives to offer customers the most efficient and cost effective HPC management solutions," said Jingwen Wang, Vice President Products, Platform Computing. "With the huge growth in cluster computing, managing HPC systems is increasingly important to controlling costs. We see Platform Manager adding value to not only our own HPC customers but to any organization using workload management software or managing clusters and grids."
"Platform Manager provides our lab with a rapid, consistent, and simplified automated cluster management tool," said Dr. Duncan Tooke, High Performance Computing Services Group of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, STFC, UK. "As a fully integrated solution, Platform Manager not only simplifies cluster management but has also allowed us to quickly scale out our grid."
