Main Street Softworks, Inc. Releases Monetra® Version 7.0 with Check Verification and Conversion

GAINESVILLE, Fla., May 12 / / - Main Street Softworks, Inc., the premier provider of high performance electronic payment processing software, announces the public release of Monetra® version 7.0. Main Street's Monetra® payment server software securely processes credit card, debit card, gift card, and electronic benefit card transactions via retail point-of-sale and eCommerce systems. Electronic check verification and conversion with image upload for the Electronic Clearing House (ECHO) processing platform is one of the most anticipated features included in this newly released version.

Introduced in 2001, Monetra® software meets or exceeds all payment card industry (PCI) security requirements. Steve Cook, Main Street's Vice President of Sales explains, "The Monetra software enables merchants' systems to communicate directly with their credit card processor network of choice, eliminating the need for expensive middlemen markups on card transaction fees. Excluding additional steps in processing and communication reduces the number of sites and routes where card data might be vulnerable to compromise. Using robust, proven software for direct communications to card processors not only lowers costs, but improves performance and security as well."

In today's competitive economy, merchants need to process transactions quickly, securely and without the burden of added transaction fees or gateway costs. The mature and reliable Monetra software easily integrates with any software application, enabling the acceptance of credit, debit, EBT, gift cards - and now checks - for merchants of all types and sizes, ranging from single-site retailers and restaurants to call center and eCommerce systems to enterprises with thousands of multi-lane locations.

Monetra is the fastest, most efficient and secure product of its type. It is capable of scaling from operation on custom embedded devices to fully redundant clustered server installations processing thousands of transactions per minute, transforming how payment systems are deployed, secured and managed. "The new check conversion features in Monetra bring our already superior payment versatility to a new level. We believe Monetra is the finest product available for directly processing electronic transactions from merchant systems. That belief is reinforced by the tens of thousands of satisfied merchants who use the Monetra payment software every day," says Cook.

Monetra version 7.0 is licensed, distributed and supported across all major operating systems. Native builds are currently available for Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, IBM AIX, SCO Unix, Sun Solaris, Apple Macintosh OS X, and Microsoft Windows® platforms, including Windows Vista and a native 64-bit server application version for Microsoft Windows 64-bit environments.
