JNBridge to Unveil JNBridgePro 4.0 at JavaOne 2008
Updates to core Java and .NET interoperability product allow users to access Java from Visual Studio and .NET from Eclipse
BOULDER, Colo., May 5 -- (JavaOne Booth #1030) -- JNBridge, the leading provider of Java and .NET interoperability tools, today announced it will debut the latest release of its core product, JNBridgePro, at JavaOne. JNBridgePro is designed for developers building cross-platform applications. JNBridgePro 4.0 adds integration with the primary Java and .NET Integrated Development Environments (IDEs): Eclipse and Visual Studio. JNBridgePro 4.0 allows developers to code with the opposite platform without leaving their native development environment.
"Java coupled with .NET offers a powerful combination for enterprise developers looking to reap the benefits of both technologies," said Mark Driver, principal analyst at Gartner Research. "As enterprises continue to struggle with issues related to the integration and complexity of these two powerful platforms, tools that remove the complexity of cross-platform interoperability will become the norm."
JNBridgePro 4.0 connects Java and .NET-based components and applications together with simple-to-use bridging tools and adapters that remove the complexities of cross-platform interoperability. JNBridgePro provides fast access to anything Java from anything .NET and anything .NET from anything Java, including EJBs, J2SE, J2EE, AWT, SWT, Swing, .NET APIs, ASP.NET, WinForms, or SharePoint Server. Developers can explore Java or .NET classes to quickly select which classes to integrate, and then JNBridgePro builds proxies that can be called from the other side.
With JNBridgePro's new plug-ins, developers now can explore and expose .NET classes from within Eclipse and explore and expose Java classes from within Visual Studio. Developers now are able to remain in their native IDE while coding and building against the other platform. Visual Studio users do not have to know the underlying Java code they're accessing and Eclipse users do not have to know the underlying .NET code they're calling.
JNBridgePro 4.0 includes:
-- Ability to access .NET classes from Eclipse via the new JNBridgePro Eclipse plug-in
-- Ability to access Java classes from Visual Studio via the new JNBridgePro Visual Studio plug-in
-- Full 64-bit support
-- Data compression of large messages and arrays for greater performance
"With the Eclipse and Visual Studio plug-ins in JNBridgePro 4.0, the whole proxy generation process becomes just another project in the build cycle," said Wayne Citrin, CTO of JNBridge. "Now developers never have to leave their development environment to access the other side, so the interoperability becomes even more simple and transparent. JNBridgePro 4.0 represents our continued and on-going commitment to provide developers with fast and easy-to-use Java and .NET interop tools that enable them to quickly deliver their applications."
