Aurora, IL - May 2, 2008 - Surface Guard introduces a new "Green" film in cohesive cold seal packaging. Well okay, the film isn't Green in color; rather it is the 1st biodegradable cohesive film for use in cohesive cold seal packaging applications.
This film performs similar to Surface Guard's standard cohesive clear and co-ex films, as they all create secure, weather resistant and tamper evident packages ideal for the fulfillment of many direct to consumer products. The only difference with Surface Guard's new Earth Friendly cohesive film is that it is biodegradable. This film is formulated to biodegrade in months when buried or discarded in landfills. The unique components in this film interact with microorganisms found abundantly in soil, landfill and compost environments. Surface Guard's new cohesive film breaks down into mineral and organic compounds with or without the presence of oxygen and leaves no toxic residue. Since this process does not utilize heat, light or physical stress, Surface Guard biodegradable cohesive film will not break down during storage.
