Stoody Introduces New 300 Series Stainless Steel Flux Cored Wire

St. Louis, MO (April 28, 2008) - Stoody® Company, a global leader in the design and manufacture of hardfacing and joining welding electrodes, has introduced the new Stoody® 300 Series Flux Cored Wire.

For over 85 years, Stoody Company has been the world's leader in the production of cored welding wires. In the 1970's, Stoody pioneered the first self-shielded open arc stainless steel wire commonly referred to as SOS. Today, the Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW) Gas Shielded Wire offers a lower cost, high quality flux cored stainless steel wire with all the great welder appeal and appearance of Stoody's premium Brilliant Stainless Steel Wire.

"The new line of flux cored wires incorporates bold technologies in formulation and manufacturing. Stoody has once again raised the standard for performance in both all position and flat and horizontal welding," said Joe Hirscher, Stoody's Director of Sales.

The new Stoody 300 Series Flux Cored Wire offers superior weld deposit, an environmentally friendly wire basket and outstanding feedability to reduce downtime and operator cost. Furthermore, the new random wound wire provides a higher deposition rate with reduced labor, overhead and material cost over solid wire and elctrodes. The product is stocked in popular sizes, including 308L, 309L and 316L; and both flat/horizontal and all position welding grades. For further information and ordering please see literature sheet #62-2704, "300 Series Flux Cored Wires" at www.stoody.com or contact your local welding distributor.

Stoody's Brilliant brand will still be available, but special order requirements will apply.

Stoody is a global leader in the design and manufacture of hardfacing and joining welding electrodes used to combat various types of wear and corrosion. Its extensive family of products includes iron, nickel, cobalt, tungsten and vanadium based alloys. Some of the major industries Stoody serves are power generation, mining, construction, railroad, steel, foundry, oil and gas production and exploration as well as the pulp and paper industry.
