New Wireless Presentation System Revolutionizes Meetings by Generating a Cable-Free Conference Environment

ATEN's KE8220 eliminates distance limitations, upgrades existing projectors and takes your meetings to the next level

3/13/2008
ATEN International, leading designer and manufacturer of advanced connectivity solutions, today introduces the KE8220 Virtual VNC Console from its ALTUSEN(TM) product line. This wireless presentation system upgrades existing projectors and generates a cable-free conference environment for multiple presentations. The KE8220 also allows remote access of PowerPoint presentations, images, and other applications via LAN, WAN, or the Internet for real-time display on a projector or monitor.

Cable-swapping and uploading presentation data located on remote computers are serious drags in any professional meeting. With the KE8220 Virtual VNC Console, ATEN revolutionizes the meeting room with a tool that not only allows multiple local presenters to wirelessly transmit their presentation data from their notebooks to a projector or display, but enables remote users to push their data real time via LAN, WAN or an Internet connection without distance limitation to the KE8220. The Picture in Picture (PIP) feature even allows user to access presentations from a remote computer while viewing another.

"The KE8220 is an innovative, extremely secure and efficient wireless presentation system for upgrading meetings," says Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International. "With state-of-the-art technology and security features, it is the ideal solution for real-time, cable-free business meetings or distant training between local and remote locations."

The KE8220 delivers PowerPoint presentations, images, and applications from desktop PCs or notebooks to projectors, LCD panels, monitors or other display devices with standard VGA connectors, and supports SXGA display resolution (1280 x 1024 at 60Hz). With the Wireless-G USB Adapter, the KE8220 transmits data over a secure high-speed 802.11b/g wireless connection at speeds of up to 54Mbps with 64-, 128- and 256-bit WEP encryption.

The executable ALTUSEN(TM) VNC software is directly downloadable from the KE8220-no installation is required. It allows every meeting participant to switch focus between their computers seamlessly with a single mouse-click. The KE8220 will fit in any network environment, as it supports both static and automatic (DHCP) network configurations. Automatic discovery and multilingual user interface support further simplify the presentation process.monitor.

The KE8220 is compatible with all major Windows operating systems, including Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Vista. The KE8220 is now available. For more information please visit http://www.aten.com.

About KVM Switches-An Essential Server Management Device
A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
