RZ 303C Precision Gear Grinding Machine includes gearless planetary drives, acoustic sensing for alignment of dressing diamonds, and LNS low noise shifting. Main column carries grinding spindle, and slide rotates 180º in total - it rotates 90º to facilitate wheel change and another 90º to perform wheel dressing operations. Onboard loading system transports unground parts into high-production Gear Grinder. Parts can be organized in stacks of steel or plastic baskets.

Hard Gear Finishing and Automation Technology on Display at IMTS
Reishauer will exhibit the RZ 303C Precision Gear Grinding Machine at IMTS 2008, Booth 7005. The RZ 303C incorporates innovative technology including gearless planetary drives, acoustic sensing for alignment of dressing diamonds and LNS low noise shifting, a feature that produces a random surface structure on the teeth to prevent excitation, all of which are patented features.
The machine working area was designed to facilitate fast changeovers. Convenient location for the set up of the dressing unit, ergonomic ease of wheel change and almost unlimited restriction of the gear location on the shaft or arbor allows the RZ 303C to provide maximum machine uptime. The main column that carries the grinding spindle and slide rotates 180º in total, from its grinding position, it rotates 90º to facilitate wheel change and another 90º to perform the wheel dressing operation.
Specific gear tooth geometry can now be easily realized (with a few keystrokes) using part specific galvanic plated composite diamond rolls manufactured by Reishauer for the RZ 303C. Using the machine axis, the wheel is moved in such a manner during the dressing cycle to produce root, flanks and tip modifications in a minimum number of passes that will be imparted to the gear when grinding.
Integrated Loading System
The primary onboard loading system is designed for transporting un-ground parts into a high production Gear Grinder. The parts can be organized in stacks of steel or plastic baskets and served by an in-plant conveyor style, table or basket buffering handling systems.
The compact cell creates a highly flexible and efficient manufacturing environment by de-coupling individual processes. Each machine and cell has an optimum buffer of parts that provides significant machine autonomy with minimal operator attendance. The cell is compact in size and facilitates system designs that are inherently scalable and easily optimized.
