Cable-Free Conference Rooms: ATEN Technology Debuts New Wireless Presentation System at Interop That Eliminates Cable Clutter in the Conference Room

LAS VEGAS, April 29 /-- ATEN Technology, Inc., an innovator of high-quality KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity products to centrally manage servers, network devices and IT infrastructure, today introduced at Interop Las Vegas a new wireless presentation system that takes meetings to the next level by removing presentation distance barriers while simultaneously expanding the functionality of existing LCD projectors. The KE8220 Virtual VNC Console also allows remote access of PowerPoint presentations, images, and other applications via LAN, WAN, or the Internet for real-time display on a projector or monitor.

"We are taking cable management from the server room into the conference room by giving organizations a valuable workplace tool that offers an innovative, extremely secure and efficient wireless presentation system for conducting meetings," said Sampson Yang, CEO, ATEN Technology, Inc. "Leveraging our innovative technologies and extensive security features, the KE8820 provides a multitude of uses ranging from real-time, cable-free business meetings or distance learning between local and remote locations."

According to Yang, cable-swapping and uploading presentation data from remote computers can disrupt meetings. Now, the KE8220 adds a new dimension to meetings with a product that allows multiple local presenters to wirelessly transmit their presentation data from their notebooks to a projector or display, as well as giving remote users the capability to push real-time data to the unit via LAN, WAN or an Internet connection without distance limitations. The Picture in Picture (PIP) feature even allows users to access presentations from a remote computer while viewing another.

The KE8220 delivers PowerPoint presentations, images, and applications from desktop PCs or notebooks to projectors, LCD panels, monitors or other display devices with standard VGA connectors, and supports SXGA display resolution (1280 x 1024 at 60Hz). With the Wireless-G USB Adapter, the KE8220 transmits data over a secure high-speed 802.11b/g wireless connection at speeds of up to 54Mbps with 64-, 128- and 256-bit WEP encryption. The executable AltusenVNC software is directly downloadable from the KE8220 -- no installation is required. Each meeting participant can easily switch presentations between their computers at the click of a mouse. The KE8220 works seamlessly within any network environment since it supports both static and automatic (DHCP) network configurations. Automatic discovery and multilingual user interface support further simplify the presentation process.

Other Highlights of the KE8220
1. Panel Array Mode allows to monitor up to four remote computers simultaneously from a single console
2. Passwords encrypted in network communications
3. Remote computers within the same network are discoveredautomatically
4. Manage up to 256 remote computers from one screen and up to 64 user accounts
5. Native support for USB keyboard and mouse and PS/2 keyboard and mouse support can be added with ATEN PS/2-to-USB Adapter
6. Mounts easily to ceilings, walls, tabletops, and system racks (0U)
7. AltusenVNC
-- Free AltusenVNC software installs on Windows 2000 and higher systems
-- Push video from remote computers to the KE8220
-- Automatically discover KE8220 within the same network
-- Installs as an application or a service
-- Supports Ctrl-Alt-Delete when installed as a service

The KE8220 is compatible with all major Windows operating systems, including Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Vista. Available now, the KE8220 is affordably priced at $349.95. The new KE8220 will be on display at ATEN's booth #963 at Interop Las Vegas.
