Take Command of Your CenTraVac(TM) Chiller Plant

- Get a better view into your chiller plant with new Tracer(TM) AdaptiView(TM) Control -

PISCATAWAY, N.J., April 28 -- Demands for occupant comfort, energy efficiency and total cost of ownership continue to increase, placing added pressure on building professionals to apply technologies that are economically smart and environmentally responsible.

Trane's Tracer(TM) AdaptiView(TM) is the industry's newest chiller control panel and allows building staff to take command of the chiller plant in a way never before possible. Chiller plants are at the core of cooling systems for many large buildings and building complexes, particularly those involved in industrial and commercial applications.

Tracer AdaptiView offers added visibility into the performance of the chiller and enhances understanding of its contribution within the system. It helps leverage Trane's Tracer Summit package enabling operators and building owners to increase energy savings by optimizing system components through unique control algorithms.

Tracer AdaptiView helps building operating staff to gain insight into operating patterns, energy use and system performance. It also gives them the ability to make educated decisions on how to run their systems, and make their already efficient Trane CenTraVac chiller plant even more energy and cost conscious.

Tracer AdaptiView for Installation and Operation Convenience

Tracer AdaptiView offers open protocol flexibility including BACnet(TM), Modbus RTU, or LonTalk(TM) with no gateways. This makes it easier to connect to other building systems and components. Plus, an ergonomic arm lets the operator view the panel from virtually any height or angle making it safer and easier to use. The panel also features a total of 24 languages.

Tracer AdaptiView is standard on all new Trane CenTraVac Simplex chillers and will be available on Duplex machines later in 2008. It can also be used for retrofit on existing chillers system.

EarthWise(TM) for Maximum Energy Efficiency

EarthWise(TM) is a comprehensive approach to reducing energy consumption, operating costs and environmental impact without compromising indoor air quality and comfort. It incorporates Trane's plant designs, Tracer Summit(TM) chiller plant controls and the CenTraVac(TM) centrifugal chiller, which is the world's most energy efficient and quietest chiller. Trane CenTraVac features an energy efficiency of 7.0 in COP (Coefficient of Performance), and is up to 13.5 percent more efficient than the next available chiller on the market.

This chiller uses R-123, the most balanced, environmentally responsible refrigerant available today for large chillers. In September 2007, Trane CenTraVac(TM) won the "Best-of-the-Best" Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its contributions to strategic ozone protection.

Trane also applies EarthWise concepts as a part of the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), in the technology application phase of Energy Services Performance Contracts. CCI is a global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in cities. Trane is a CCI inaugural Energy Services Company.
