Compact Stainless Steel Latch Provides Style, Strength, Convenience For Smaller Enclosures

Concordville, PA, April 23, 2008-The addition of a new compact, stainless steel M1-15 latch to the line of Southco(r) M1 push-to-close latches offers a new option for enclosures that demand corrosion-resistant durability in a compact housing to fit smaller profile doors and drawers. Pull-tab actuation and push-to-close latch engagement provide fingertip convenience for opening and closing. And with a 122 pound (545 N) maximum recommended working load rating-higher than most latches of similar size-this latch is designed to deliver robust performance even in mobile applications where the contents of an enclosure can shift and create an impact load on the inside of the door.

Cast stainless steel construction provides a smooth, attractive surface that can stand up to harsh marine environments or repetitive washdown and cleaning cycles in foodservice, medical or industrial applications. Its attractive design and multiple finish options-polished stainless steel as standard with brushed nickel, satin nickel, diamond brass, or black available upon request-also make it an option for furniture applications. As part of the M1 family of latches, it provides a consistency of look and finish that complements the use of other Southco access hardware. In addition to the standard non-locking style, a lockable version provides the option of keylocking access control.

The M1-15 is easy to install in a singe 1.5-inch round hole, and presents a smooth, virtually flush installed look with no visible mounting hardware. Provided with a reversible mounting bracket, it accommodates door panel thicknesses ranging from 0.02 inches to 0.75 inches (0.5 mm to 19 mm).
