ShockWatch EquipCommand(TM) Adds Ease to Fleet Management

ShockWatch EquipCommand(TM) Adds Ease to Fleet Management

DALLAS (April 22, 2008) - ShockWatch, a global leader in developing and manufacturing damage prevention products, has taken another step in making it easier for warehouse and safety managers to control their fleet information. The company's EquipCommand(TM) is a user-friendly enterprise software that gives managers the flexibility to control all ShockWatch-monitored assets using one intuitive user interface. Managers host EquipCommand on their personal workstations or servers, giving users a single portal through which they can access all of the ShockWatch Equipment Monitors - the new FleetControl(TM) Manager, EquipManager(TM), UsageManager(TM), StartManager(TM), ImpactManager(TM) RF and ImpactManager(TM) ID.

EquipCommand helps to reduce damage-related costs by making it easy for managers to configure and administer event parameters for each monitoring unit in the fleet through the use of set-up wizards and drop-down menus. Through a wireless or manual retrieval, dependent on the equipment monitor's functionality, managers can collect data regarding equipment access, utilization, safety and maintenance. EquipCommand also helps improve communications by sending alerts, locating equipment and determining maintenance and training needs for comprehensive fleet management. In addition, the increased fleet control helps managers create more efficient work schedules and assignments for equipment usage.

"EquipCommand has a user-friendly interface that gets every product on the same page, no matter how many assets you have being monitored in your fleet," said R.C. Greenberg, equipment monitors product manager at ShockWatch. "This new software provides warehouse and safety managers with more knowledge about how the fleet is being operated. Whether it's a tabletop saw, forklift or stockpicker, managers can determine who's operating the machine and its status using EquipCommand."

ShockWatch's Equipment Monitors track the activity of each asset, such as a forklift or other motorized equipment, and create time-sensitive reports on maintenance, impacts and other events. Using the gathered data, EquipCommand can be enabled to provide real-time reports and alerts via text message or e-mail - all of which helps to maximize the ROI for ShockWatch Equipment Monitors.

EquipCommand also helps ensure a line of accountability for forklift incidents. With restricted equipment access and customizable, OSHA-compliant safety checklist, the onboard technology encourages forklift operators to improve driving behavior without supervisory presence. If the forklift operator is using the truck improperly, an alert can be sent to management. Management can then assign additional training to an operator, which may help deter future accidents.

"Managers will really appreciate the easy-to-use functionality of EquipCommand because it takes some of the pressure off their daily grind," Greenberg said. "For the manager who can't be everywhere at once, EquipCommand helps ensure that he or she can successfully maintain great fleet awareness, a higher productivity level and a safer warehouse environment."
