Fujitsu Releases New Version of IP-9500e MPEG-4 AVC Encoder to Improve Delivery and Quality of HD Video
SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 21 / / - Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative computer products and broadcast solutions, today announced the latest revision of its IP-9500e MPEG- 4 AVC Encoder, the industry's leading encoding solution for real-time broadcast quality contribution content. Revision 3.0 firmware enables broadcasters to encode both standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) video signals, and is also equipped with a new motion latency mode that is ideal for transmitting sporting and other rapid-motion events. The low data rates in the latest IP-9500e release allows for exceptional picture quality for electronic and satellite news gathering applications at bit rates normally associated with standard definition feeds.
"As broadcasters continue to embrace HD, it is critical that they implement the right technologies to deliver the highest picture quality possible to consumers. This is especially true when broadcasting live events, and Fujitsu's IP-9500e encoder is an ideal solution for satisfying this requirement," said Vic Herring, senior director, video solutions group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "CBS and other leading broadcasters are adopting the IP-9500e for their real-time contribution requirements, especially for their ENG/SNG feeds. This latest revision illustrates a number of innovative technological advancements, further strengthening the IP-9500e as the industry's premier MPEG-4 AVC encoder."
The IP-9500e's exceptional picture quality at low bit-rates and low- latency enables HD satellite newsgathering and transmission of live events with little or no changes to the current broadcast satellite infrastructure. The Revision 3.0 firmware included in the newest version enables encoding for both SD and HD video signals, simultaneous dual encoding of HD and an internally down-converted SD signal. The new motion latency mode is optimal for transmitting rapid motion video and supplements the IP-9500e's existing standard and low latency modes.
Specifications
The new features included in the latest version of the IP-9500e further enhance the product's market-leading specifications for today's real-time, high-quality video streaming:
- Video Coding: 720p/1080i at HP@L4, 480i at MP@L3
- Video Bit-rates: 4 to 27 Mbps
- Latency: 300ms Low Latency and 1.4s Standard Latency (DVB-ASI)
- Interfaces: DVB-ASI and IP (10/100/1000 Auto-Sensing)
