News Story

Pressure Regulators control compressed air and gas.

April 18, 2008 - Offered in 4 models, electronically-controlled Proportional Pressure Regulating Valves feature connectors ranging from G1/4 to G2 for compressed air and gas volume flow rates of 2500 l/min to more than 40,000 l/min. Self-regulating seal between pilot chamber and pressure release prevents components from sticking and avoids jerky valve movements. Rated at IP65, airfit control pressure regulators are controlled via SPS or potentiometer with either 0-10 V, 0-20 mA, or 4-20 mA.

Electronic Pressure Regulator with Optimized Dynamics

High-precision regulation of compressed air and gases

Compressed air and gases, such as oxygen or nitrogen, have to be precisely regulated in many different areas of application. This could be when handling bulk goods, metering and mixing sealing agents or adhesives, welding, laser cutting or in drive technology for compressed air motors, tools or lifting gear or in vacuum technology.
In these areas of application, the new electronically-controlled proportional pressure regulating valves from the HOERBIGER Origa airfit control range ensure the highest standard of dynamics and precision.

The new range of electronically-controlled airfit control proportional pressure regulating valves from HOERBIGER Origa comprises 4 devices with 8 different variants including connectors ranging from G1/4 to G2 for compressed air and gas volume flow rates of > < 2500 l/min to > 40,000 l/min. The optimized combination of electronics and pneumatics ensures highly regulated dynamics with minimal response times. The compactly designed electronic pressure regulators still function precisely even with fluctuations in input pressure of up to 16 bar.

During the development of the new electronic pressure regulators, HOERBIGER Origa combined the latest generation of electronic components with advanced precision pilot control and piston-pressure valves. The air consumption could therefore be restricted to regulation processes and minimized overall. The compact design means the electronic pressure regulators offer a space-saving solution when installed in machines and systems.

Depending on the size of the model, the airfit control electronic pressure regulators can handle unusually high volume flow rates of more than 40,000 l/min. The output pressure can be regulated very precisely between 0 and 10 bar. Generously proportioned ventilation ensures fast pressure release.

The self-regulating seal between the pilot chamber and the pressure release prevents the components from sticking and thus avoids jerky valve movements, known as the "stick-slip effect". The regulators therefore operate very reliably at the lowest input pressure. The airfit control electronic pressure regulators are controlled via SPS or potentiometer with either 0 to 10 Volt, 0 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 mA. All airfit control pressure regulators include the IP65 protection class.
