Cooper Lighting Introduces Metalux Modular F-Bay Series

Peachtree City, Ga. - Cooper Lighting has introduced the new Metalux Modular F-Bay option to its F-Bay Series of fluorescent high-bay luminaires. The new Modular F-Bay features a labor-saving plug-in power connection and a plug-in modular sensor kit option offering a lighting control system to manage and conserve energy.

The new Modular F-Bay Power Supply option allows external fixture access for safe and easy installation and maintenance. With labor-saving plug-in power connection, there is no need to remove lamps or reflectors to disconnect fixture power. Access to the individual fixture's power supply allows servicing without turning off all the fixtures and disrupting occupants as well as facing exposure to dangerous voltage from live fixtures. The F-Bay Modular Power Supply makes installation quick, easy, and safe-simply plug and power.

The Modular F-Bay Power Supply option complies with the NEC requirement for linear ballast disconnect which went into effect January 1, 2008. The code requires that all ballasted lighting fixtures with double-ended fluorescent lamps incorporate a luminaire ballast disconnect. Metalux fluorescent fixtures are supplied with a pre-wired internal linear disconnect.

In addition, the Modular F-Bay features a plug-in modular sensor kit option offering a lighting control system to manage and conserve energy. The sensors are pre-wired and assembled with modular plug-in cord offering quick and simple field installation with no hard wiring required.

The F-Bay Lighting System is designed for applications with high mounting heights and where high lumen output is required, such as retail and department stores, warehouses, industrial facilities, school gymnasiums, auditoriums and convention centers, that were once exclusive to H.I.D. fixtures. The F-Bay fluorescent lighting system offers uniform brightness control, high system efficacy, 95% lumen maintenance, long lamp life, instant on/instant restrike, economical dimming, more emergency options, and exceptional color rendering benefits.

Not only for new construction environments, the series is a great alternative to retrofit H.I.D. applications that are likely operating at 60-70% of their original light output and consuming 25-40% more energy than an equivalent fluorescent product would require.
