Compact Photoelectric Sensors offer background suppression.

April 4, 2008 - Measuring just 4 x 6 x 45 mm, FHDK 04 series can detect glass, plastic, foil, and other high-gloss targets at distances of 30 and 50 mm. Self-contained solutions, impervious to dirt, object color, and surface characteristics, are designed to mount inside channel of 80/20 extrusion frames. Offered in cable and M8 models, several sensors can operate in close proximity without any optical interference. They support IO-Link communication and offer NPN and PNP output.

Sub-Miniature Photoelectric Sensors with Background Suppression

Cost-Effective Sensors Offer 50mm Sensing Range, Fit Easily in 80/20 Extrusion Frames

Southington, Conn. - January 16, 2008.... For equipment and machinery manufacturing and maintenance, Baumer Ltd. has introduced a family of extremely compact photoelectric sensors that feature true background suppression technology to eliminate interference related with background reflection and target color. Measuring just 4 x 6 x 45 mm, the highly precise Baumer FHDK 04 series of sensors reproducibly detects even the smallest objects at distances of 30 and 50 mm. FHDK 04 sensors are a self-contained, cost-effective alternative to traditional fiber optic sensors.

FHDK 04 sensors are designed to be mounted inside the channel of industry standard 80/20 extrusion frames, where the sensor is protected and unobtrusive. These sensors easily detect glass, plastics, foils and other high-gloss targets and are impervious to dirt, color of an object, or surface characteristics. Several sensors can operate in close proximity without any optical interference. FHDK 04 sensors are ideal for use in specialty machinery including printing, packaging, and medical equipment.

Both cable and M8 models are available. The sensors support the IO-Link communication standard and offer both NPN and PNP output. For more information on the FHDK 04 subminiature background suppression sensor, contact Baumer Ltd. at (800) 937-9336, www.baumerelectric.com/usa, or via e-mail at sales.us@baumerelectric.com.

Baumer Ltd. is a global leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of high quality, precision sensors since 1952 serving a variety of markets including Automation, Graphics, Robotics/Material Handling, Medical, Machine Tool and Specialty Machines.
