Capital Safety Introduces Protecta Rebel(TM) CT Self Retracting Lifeline

RED WING, Minn. - April 1, 2008 - Protecta, a Capital Safety brand, introduces the Protecta Rebel(TM) CT Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL). With 15 feet of galvanized cable lifeline, the Protecta Rebel(TM) CT SRL delivers the greatest working range among economy class SRLs, maximizing mobility and worker productivity.

The compact, lightweight design of the Protecta Rebel(TM) CT SRL increases worker comfort and reduces fatigue compared to heavier SRLs. At only 6.4 lbs, the Rebel(TM) CT features one of the industry's best length-to-weight ratios.

The rugged aluminum housing and steel working components offer exceptional durability, while the cable lifeline provides added protection against heat and abrasion. The included shock pack reduces the forces exerted on the user in a fall event, acts as an impact indicator for visual inspection, and has a Kevlar/Nomex covering for protection against the elements. In addition to the shock pack, a speed sensing brake keeps forces to a minimum and reduces clearance requirements.

"Protecta stands for reliability, quality and economy," states Charley Bryant, product marketing manager for hardgoods with Capital Safety. "The Protecta Rebel(TM) CT self retracting lifeline certainly offers each of these traits, with added features that make the product ideal for even the harshest environments and worksites."

A swiveling anchorage loop and snap hook help keep the unit in line with the anchorage and prevent twisting of the cable, decreasing the potential of damage to the lifeline and housing.

The Protecta Rebel(TM) CT SRL features a maximum arresting force of 1,350 lbs and supports a capacity of 310 lbs. The Rebel(TM) CT meets all applicable industry standards, including OSHA and ANSI Z359-2007.
