Panasonic Showcases High Definition Remote Head Camera System At ISC West

New Camera Control Unit Features HDMI Output.

Las Vegas, NV (April 2, 2008) - Panasonic System Solutions Company is showcasing its remote head camera with true 16x9 Multi-Format High Definition (HD) here at ISC West. With the increasing call for sharper, clearer images across all video surveillance applications, there is a growing demand and acceptance for HD capabilities.

"With Panasonic's HD remote head camera system it is possible to acquire HD images where conventional cameras simply cannot be utilized. You can mount this unobtrusive small camera head virtually anywhere," said Jim Roselius, National Sales Manager, Panasonic Vision Systems, a division of Panasonic System Solutions Company. "This remote head camera system delivers the most detailed, purest color video images attainable due to superior imaging capabilities, without any sacrifice in quality despite its small footprint. For applications where space is at a premium or low-profile concealment is necessary, but the highest picture quality is still a must, this remote head HD camera is an excellent choice."

The Panasonic GP-US932 Remote Head HD Camera System consists of the GP-US932H 3CCD HD Camera Head mated to either the GP-US932CU Camera Control Unit (CCU) with HDMI output or GP-US932CUS with SDI output. The HD camera head is both 1080i and 720p selectable with 3 1/3"-type 16x9 high-sensitivity progressive HD sensors running at a full 60 frames per second. A newly developed DSP offers unprecedented accuracy with 14-bit A/D conversion and 19-bit inner processing, and progressive scanning improves vertical resolution for outstanding HD and SD video output image quality. A selection of CCUs allow users to select units with either HDMI or SDI outputs.

Additional features include 12-axis matrix control for superior life-like color accuracy with independent color control for optimal performance, as well as a unique dynamic range feature that expands contrast in dark areas while maintaining detail in bright areas of the picture. All features and settings are available via an easy to use on-screen menu.

"Now superior image quality is a reality in many video surveillance applications where high definition previously was not available," said Mr. Roselius.
