Leviton Introduces LEV-LOK(TM) Modular Receptacle System

Revolutionary Lock and Latch Wiring Module Design Speeds Installation in High-Traffic Areas

Little Neck, NY, March 14, 2008 - The new Lev-Lok(TM) Modular Receptacle System from Leviton simplifies the installation of receptacles by eliminating time-consuming steps on the job. The Lev-Lok Receptacle System consists of a wiring module with wire leads and a rugged duplex receptacle with solid brass locking connection pins. Place the wiring module over the receptacle's locking pins, twist clockwise and the connection is secured. This revolutionary line of 15 and 20 amp receptacles addresses the reliability and performance concerns of specification engineers without sacrificing the contractor's need for fast, easy installation. The Lev-Lok system is ideal for new construction, large facility additions and retrofits, especially where meeting a tight completion deadline is critical.

The Lev-Lok Modular Receptacle System with its simple but secure lock and latch wiring module, is suitable for installation in high-traffic environments such as universities, hospitals, hotels and office complexes. It offers contractors extremely fast and easy installation and provides maintenance managers with a simple, quick way to replace receptacles and minimize downtime. The system's wiring module, which consists of a locking connector and 6-inch wire leads, accepts the receptacle's solid brass locking connection pins and -- with a single clockwise turn -- securely locks and latches in place, providing reliable performance and a long service life.

For fast receptacle replacement, simply turn the wiring module counter-clockwise and unlock from the receptacle's connection pins. Lev-Lok receptacles are designed to minimize mistakes: there is only one way to orient the wiring module. This ensures that the wire leads always mate to the same receptacle terminals during installation or replacement.

Ideal for dusty construction sites, the Lev-Lok wiring module ships in a clear polybag with a factory installed protective cover. The protective cover keeps the contacts clean during rough-in. To test the circuit, just peel-back the protective cover. After testing, identify the circuit with the module's factory installed circuit ID label.

Lev-Lok receptacles are available in both industrial grade and hospital grade duplex configurations. Choose from nine industry standard colors: brown, ivory, white, black, blue, gray, red, light almond, or almond. Accessories include complementary plastic, nylon and metal wallplates in single to four-gang configurations in matching colors which can be hot-stamped or engraved. The Lev-Lok modular receptacle system features a 10 Year Limited Warranty.
