Rotary Actuators suit small component production/assembly.

April 3, 2008 - Offered in sizes 8-14, pneumatic SRU rotary actuators are equipped with pneumatic drive based on rack/pinion principle and with double compressed air actuation. Depending on size, they supply torque from 0.103-0.848 lbf-ft. Basic module includes 45° end position adjustability feature and for deceleration, elastomer dampers or hydraulic shock absorbers may be used. Available options are 2x/4x media feed-through and center position.

SRU Rotary Actuator: Now in Small Sizes 8 to 14

Automation / Rotary Modules

SCHUNK Inc has added sizes 8 to 14 to its range of pneumatic SRU rotary actuators. With its finer size gradations, this series now offers exactly the right sizes for the production and assembly of small components.

The four new, small SRU sizes are equipped with a powerful pneumatic drive based on the rack/pinion principle and with double compressed air actuation. Depending on the size, it supplies a torque of 0.14 to 1.15 newton meters (0.103 to 0.848 lbf-ft). For deceleration, either elastomer dampers or hydraulic shock absorbers may be used. The more powerful version with shock absorbers, in particular, provides the best performance in the smallest space and represents a remarkable feat of engineering for rotary actuators of this size.

As with their big SRU brothers, the new sizes also provide a choice of numerous different variants. A media feed-through (2x/4x) and a center position (M) are also available as options. The 45° end position adjustability feature is already integrated in the basic module.
