TrendChip Launches New Cost Effective ADSL2+ Chipset with Integrated Fast Ethernet Transceiver for Emerging Broadband Markets

HSINCHU, Taiwan, April 1, 2008 -- TrendChip Technologies Corporation, a leading xDSL IC developer and provider, today announced the next generation ADSL2+ chipset, composed of TC3162LEH ADSL2+ processor and TC3086 Analog Front End (AFE), for customer premise equipment (CPE). With highly integrated design, this chipset, targeting at ADSL2+ Bridge and Router applications, can lower system complexity and reduce the external components cost more than ten percent in comparing with existing solutions.

TC3162LEH integrates a 10/100Base-TX Fast Ethernet MAC and Transceiver with auto-negotiation function and provides the Quad-IO SPI flash which provides faster boot up time comparing with existing single-IO SPI flash. By leveraging it predecessor, the TC3162L2H, TC3162LEH provides high processing power, enhanced Impulse Noise Protection (INP) capability for IPTV, advanced routing throughput, and lower BOM (Bill of Material) cost. TC3086 is a high-performance CMOS analog front end with an integrated line driver, which provides a lower-cost, lower-power, TR-100 performance solution as well as compliance to all legacy ADSL1/2/2+ standards, including Annex A, B, I, J, M, and L.

Shinjou Fang, CEO of TrendChip Technologies Corp. stated, "TC3162LEH and TC3086 offer the highly integrated solution that significantly reduces the PCB size, complexity and overall system cost by integrating the Ethernet transceiver and SPI flash interface. With more than 16 million ADSL2+ chipset shipped, Trendchip is enabling our customers to deliver the most cost- effective ADSL2+ CPE Products to drive the emerging broadband markets."

TC3162LEH is available in LQFP-128 package and TC3086 is available in QFN-64 package. This solution allows equipment provider to minimize the PCB size and lower the component cost. Combining with the effect by using smaller form factor of SPI flash memory, TrendChip provides the industry's most cost-effective wired bridge/router design by highly integrated chipset. By offering a completed hardware and software turnkey reference design, system providers can reduce their efforts and time to market.

Engineering samples of the TC3162LEH and TC3086 are currently available. For more information of TC3162LEH and TC3086 chipsets, please visit http://www.trendchip.com.tw/ .
