Northwire Introduces Guardian Load Cell Cables for Weigh Scale Applications

OSCEOLA, Wis.-Cables used for load cells on weighing scales or weigh stations must be tough enough to accommodate rugged applications, including truck, livestock, floor and railroad scales. Northwire, Inc. has introduced Guardian Load Cell Cables, a proven rugged product line for these extreme conditions.

The Guardian product line-available immediately in any length from stock- includes cable versions for standard and extreme environments using a 4- or 6-wire load cell. The 6-wire cables are best suited for longer runs with remote sense lines.

The standard load cell cable features a tough, weatherproof PVC cable jacket. The cable is UL and CSA recognized.

The load cell cable for extreme environments is double jacketed, with polyurethane over PVC jacketing, to provide superior resistance to chemicals, abrasion and weather.

Both versions of Guardian cable are of flexible-construction 20 AWG stranded tinned copper wire industry standard color-coded conductors. They also feature a tinned copper braid armor shield over an aluminized foil shield that provides protection from radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI), as well as from gnawing rodents. The cables are temperature rated from -30 degrees to 80 degrees centigrade (-22 degrees to 176 degrees Fahrenheit). Cables can be customized with legends and company names.
