Telect's Load Center Power Distribution Panel Bridges the Gap Between Distribution Frames and Breaker Panels

New Solution Provides the Capacity of Larger, More Expensive Battery Distribution Frame in a Compact Footprint

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash., March 18 / / - Telect, Inc., a worldwide supplier of power and connectivity solutions for the communications industry, recently released a new load center power distribution panel, a unique solution that addresses the growing challenge for advanced high-current power management capabilities inside and outside the central office.

The continued growth of data rates and capacity on networks has led to the need for more active equipment (such as routers), with ever-increasing power requirements. However, a full-sized battery distribution frame is not always a realistic power management solution due to space constraints.

Telect's new load center panel combines the feature set of smaller power distribution panel with the amperage capacity of larger distribution frames, while at the same time incorporating Telect's industry-leading reliability.

Available today from Telect.com, the load center panel includes several innovative features:

o High power capabilities - two 600A inputs, with eight 100A circuit
breaker positions per input
o Compact size - the panel is just 4 rack units in height (7 inches) and
fits in standard 19-inch or 23-inch racks
o Advanced versatility - functions with single-, double- or triple-pole
breakers ("bullet-style" for simple in-field configuration); also
features five integrated GMT fuses per input to handle low-current
distribution
o Universal operating voltage - functions seamlessly in +/-24 and -48
VDC environments
o Industry compliant - NEBS level 3, UL, CUL and CE certification

The load center panel provides the flexibility for both primary and secondary distribution in network applications. It combines the amperage capacity of a battery distribution frame, the capabilities and alarming of a GMT fuse panel, and the compact size of a high-current circuit breaker panel. The result is a flexible solution for the varied requirements of telecom service providers.
