Intradyn e-Mail Active Archiving Appliances Gain Significant New Features with the Release of Version 4.0 Software Update
The Intradyn family of ComplianceVault eSeries and Orca eMail Archiver active email archiving appliances offer a single, powerful 'plug-and-play' solution for meeting compliance regulations affecting businesses of all sizes, in addition to mailbox management, message store optimization, archiving and eDiscovery all from within MS Outlook or a web browser, and support Exchange, GroupWise, Domino and a host of other email servers.
ST. PAUL, Minn., March 11 / / - Intradyn(TM), the leader in simple, affordable appliance solutions for automated e-mail archiving and retrieval, today announced the immediate availability of a major update of the software that powers the company's popular ComplianceVault(TM) and Orca(TM) eMail Archiver line of e-mail archiving appliances. Intradyn's new fourth-generation software release expands the capabilities of the Orca Archiver product line with enhanced mail management, message and file de-duplication and compression, and email recovery features that are critical to small and medium sized businesses. The ComplianceVault eSeries product line also gains important new features that are a "must-have" for enterprise customers, such as enhanced security, remote monitoring and control, enhanced searching and audit reports, and an optimized message store that is scalable to over 30TB with multiple data retention and legal hold options for compliance.
"Version 4.0 shows a maturation of our email archiving products," said Brent Bowlby, Intradyn's Chief Executive Officer. "We knew back in early '04, when Intradyn created the email archiving appliance category with our first product for SMB customers, that it was only a matter of time before companies of all sizes could benefit from the significant ROI and lower TCO that is inherent in the appliance model, and now that time has come with this new release."
The software upgrade provides:
Secure Encrypted Message Transportation: Securely transport email messages from the email server to archive, utilizing the secure POP/IMAP protocol. This added security is particularly beneficial to customers who wish to locate their email archiving appliance at a remote location.
Enhanced User Interface: Provides a new "Step-by-step" wizard for creating user and group accounts, providing many additional options which are more granular and easier to administer. Each user can select a "Homepage" for more convenient navigation. And, the usability is improved by only displaying authorized functions.
LDAP and Active Directory integration: Provides for shared user and group policy management.
Enhanced Search and Discovery: New options for searching content selectively by: email header, email attachment (Office, PDF, and TXT), attachment type, and message body, while also providing for easy automated scheduling of popular searches.
Three Stage Data Retention Management: Intradyn's Orca and ComplianceVault appliances incorporate the cost savings, efficiency and versatility of a "disk-to-disk-to-tape" data protection scheme, providing businesses with the most reliable solution available for complete life cycle management of electronic communications. In addition, data written to tape can optionally be encrypted with AES 256-bit "strong encryption" (the highest level of encryption available), and can be certified "unalterable" by utilizing Sony's AIT WORM tape technology.
Optimized De-duplication and Compression of Emails: Actively reduces the message store on the email archiver by an estimated 75 percent, resulting in a leaner more efficient email message store that also shrinks backup and restore times.
SNMP Monitoring and Remote Control: Provides network operations with alerts on the ComplianceVault status, and remote access to the ComplianceVault even if the appliance is in a powered down state.
