Cable connects S-video compatible equipment.

March 18, 2008 - Designed to carry color information as one signal over dual coax cable, S-Video/BNC Cable remains flexible in temperatures as low as -40°C and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Coaxes deliver minimum return loss of 21 dB between 5-850 MHz and 18 dB between 851-3,000 MHz. Featuring 25 AWG/0.5 mm stranded bare copper conductor with gas-injected foam HDPE insulation, cable combines 100% Duofoil shielding with 95% tinned copper braid. Coax jackets are FRNC/LSNH color-coded in yellow and white.

New Mini High Resolution S-Video/BNC Cable from Belden Offers Optimum Performance and Easy Installation

New cable for connecting S-video compatible projectors, beamers and other video equipment offers superior solution for installers and integrators of top-of-the-range video facilities in professional and semi-professional applications

Sunday, March 09, 2008

The cable carries the color information as one signal over a dual coax cable. This delivers superior picture quality for S-video compatible equipment, such as devices that have the relevant connections and color encoding. Designed for indoor and outdoor use, these S-Video high performance cables remain flexible in temperatures as low as -40°C and are ideal for top quality, high-end computer graphics and animation, home cinema and/or video conferences and presentations.

The new cables deliver outstanding performance and meet Broadcast Quality standards. Because brightness and color signals are transmitted on separate lines, a better picture quality is guaranteed. The coaxes deliver a minimum return loss of 21dB between 5 and 850 MHz and 18dB between 851 and 3000 MHz. They are also pre-timed to less than 4.0ns/m delay difference between each coax. The foil under braid shielding contributes to low attenuation and their stranded copper center conductor and highly flexible and halogen-free FRNC jackets make the cable very suitable for locations where there is increased need to protect life or valuables against the risk of fire.

Werner Eich, Belden EMEA Marketing Manager for Entertainment said, "Belden sets out to deliver innovative and cost-effective cabling solutions. Our customers are looking for cable solutions that combine optimum performance with easier installation. We believe that these new cables will not only give them the performance they require, but will also make their life easier."

Installation is easy including proper boot fit, easy flexing for installation and equipment hook-up, UV-resistant and easy to terminate.

The cable has a 25AWG/0.5mm (stranded) bare copper conductor with gas-injected foam HDPE insulation. The shielding is 100% Duofoil combined with 95% tinned copper braid. Individual coax jackets are FRNC/LSNH color-coded in yellow and white with similar overall jacket in matt black. The dielectric is surrounded by the shield's foil layer and can be very easily removed for BNC connectors, minimizing possible conductor-to-shield shorts.
