March 17, 2008 - Supporting all resolutions up to 2,048 x 1,536 as well as PCI Express Graphics Standard, dFLAT-PEG-M72 graphics card features Unified Video Decoder to process multimedia content and HDTV playback. Graphic memory is available with 128 or 256 Mb of storage capacity and 3D acceleration is enabled by DirectX10, OpenGL2.0, and Shader Model 4.0. Card also features 2 independent video engines; JILI30 interface to connect flat panels, and 2 x CRT, 2 x DVI, and TV output.

dFLAT-PEG-M72: Kontron's Digital Graphics Controller for Industrial Applications

Long-term available PCI Express graphics performance

Eching/Nuremberg, Germany, February 26, 2008 - With the high-performance dFLAT-PEG-M72 graphics card, Kontron extends its successful dFLAT product family with a new PCI Express Graphics (PEG) card for industrial applications.

The high resolution digital graphics card supports resolutions up to QXGA (2048x1536), including HDTV and all other wide screen resolutions. The dFLAT-PEG-M72 supports the PCI Express Graphics (PEG) Standard. It is based on the Radeon Mobility series of graphic controllers and comes with the HD2400 controller. The highlight of the dFLAT-PEG-M72 is the "Unified Video Decoder" (UVD) from the ATI HD family which greatly reduces the load on the processor when it comes to processing multimedia content and HDTV playback. As such, it also improves the energy/thermal balance. Graphic memory is available with either 128 MB or 256 MB of storage capacity. DirectX10, OpenGL2.0 and Shader Model 4.0 amongst others ensure the latest 3D acceleration. Two independent video engines together with the flexible output matrix enable extended desktop and dual application operation in almost any display combination.

Flat panels are connected directly via the convenient and price-optimized JILI30 interface (LVDS) for which a large number of cables are available. Kontron's flat panel configurator (available at www.kontron.com) provides information for all currently available cables. 2 x CRT, 2 x DVI and a TV output provide external monitor connections. A HDMI connection can be established via the DVI-to-HDMI adapter.

Kontron guaranties the long-term availability of several years for the dFLAT-PEG-M72, providing customers with the security needed for long-term planning as well as investment security.
