Programmable Head attaches to 3-axis CNC milling centers.

March 31, 2008 - With Model 5414, any 3-axis CNC machine can be converted to provide simultaneous 5-axis machining and drilling capability. Head attachment utilizes A2 tool steel in drive block and main bevel gears, and 17-4 stainless steel in spindle and worm gear housing. Inpro spindle seal virtually eliminates potential spindle contamination. Offering 20-40 K rpm, high-speed spindle options are achieved through mechanical speeder or pneumatic spindle that does not lose torque or rpm under load.

Tri-Tech Precision Products Demos Flexible 5-Axis Programmable Head at WESTEC 2008

Model 5414 Converts most Any 3-Axis CNC Machine to 5-Axis Capability with Added Flexibility!

Anaheim, CA - March 31, 2008 - Tri-Tech Precision Products, Inc. will display the Model 5414, their 5-Axis Programmable Head Attachment at the WESTEC 2008 Exposition and Conference held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The dependable, revolutionary and economical M5414 attaches to virtually any 3-Axis CNC Milling Center to provide true simultaneous 5-Axis machining and drilling capability and will demonstrate its metal cutting strength and flexibility at WESTEC 2008. The industry applications taking advantage of this new technology come from mold, aerospace, specialty automotive, energy and instrument manufacturers as well as generalist job shop owners.

The M5414 continues to provide specific enhancements including an upgraded spindle with high precision bearings designed to further increase rigidity and deliver a noticeably smoother surface finish. The recently upgraded worm gears offer a measurable improvement in accuracy over previous models. The M5414 now includes an Inpro spindle seal that virtually eliminates potential spindle contamination.

Designed to handle the most complex machining including full 5-axis profiling, contouring, slots and holes, the M5414's sturdy holding fixture enables a quick installation time of less than thirty minutes. The new M5414 construction utilizes A2 tool steel in the drive block and main bevel gears and 17-4 stainless steel in the spindle and worm gear housing. High speed options are achieved through either a mechanical speeder, or an innovative pneumatic spindle that does not lose torque or RPM under load and utilizes clean, oil-free compressed air that eliminates oil drip from the spindle. High speed spindle options offer 20-40K RPM capabilities.

The M5414 still provides access to all points within the hemisphere of the machine's work envelope. Rapid tool change is provided by the high precision HSK tooling system.
