Furnaces for Soft Metal Melting Applications

Charles A. Hones Inc. manufactures a wide range of types and sizes of furnaces and burners, we are something of a "jack of all trades" shop. Because we build each furnace in house and to order, we can easily customize dimensions, BTU outputs, and accessories - and we have a great deal of experience in doing so. We relish the challenge of designing and building complex furnaces and burners, as well as troubleshooting all kinds of applications.

Hones, the leader in Melters, announces the introduction of "The Buzzer" - a soft metal melting furnace which is used to melt a wide array of low temperature, white and soft metals. Now featuring 3 new pot sizes from 250 up to 2,700 lbs. of lead. All melting furnaces are available with digital controls and high limit safety. The metals commonly melted are pewter, babbitt, tin, solder, bismuth, lead, zinc, and many die casting alloys. Buzzer soft metal melting furnaces can be used for up to 1,000 degrees F. Furnaces include a cast iron pot for melting metal.

No. 250 Melter: Pot is 12 3/4" diameter x 6 1/2" deep. Holds 250 lbs. of lead or 150 lbs. of zinc. Maximum operating temperature 1,000 degrees F. No. 1,000 Melter: Pot is 18 1/2" diameter x 14 1/2" deep. Holds 1,000 lbs. of lead or 600 lbs. of zinc. Maximum operating temperature 1,000 degrees F. No. 2,700 Melter: Pot is 26 3/4" diameter x 16 1/4" deep. Holds 2,700 lbs. of lead or 1,650 lbs. of zinc. Maximum operating temperature 1,000 degrees F.

"The Buzzer" Soft Metal Melting Furnace comes in 5 standard sizes available from 160 to 2,700 lbs. lead capacity. Special sizes, tilting furnaces, high temperature metals, and draw off (bottom drain spout) units built to order. Featured applications are lead melting, sand casting, spin casting, die casting, permanent mold casting, precision casting, art casting, tin melting, solder melting, babbitt melting, pewter melting and zinc melting.
