ITT Unveils New MCDonnell & Miller Flow Switches at AHR Expo

Morton Grove, IL - January 22, 2008 - ITT has announced a new McDonnell & Miller brand general-purpose, liquid flow switch. The M&M Series FS250 switches incorporate new enhancements that provide greater reliability and lower flow sensing capabilities in a general-purpose flow switch.

The new Liquid Flow Switches have a measured flow-rate sensing of 5.8 gpm in 1" pipe (horizontal pipe installations), which is up to 18-percent lower than measured flow of other general purpose flow switches. The new McDonnell & Miller Liquid Flow Switches have a one-inch NPTM brass pipe connection, 1", 2", 3", and 6" stainless steel paddles, and ASME Section IV boiler ratings of 250-degrees (Fahrenheit) and 160 psig.

Switching mechanisms on both the flow switch models FS251 and FS254 include:
o Flow detection via stainless steel paddles inserted into flow stream piping
o Brass body, paddle arm and pivot shaft
o EPDM O-ring seals on the pivot shaft for long life and durability in multiple chemical environments
o Cam actuation of electrical switch
o Easily accessible electrical connections and flow sensing adjustment screws

Featuring a best-in-industry five-year warranty, the McDonnell & Miller Liquid Flow Switches were subjected to extensive lab and field-testing for a number of applications, including copper tube boilers, chillers, and commercial pools. The new McDonnell & Miller Liquid Flow Switches are designed to be direct replacements for existing flow switches.
